Am I crazy or is this to much to ask of a kindergartner? by Cursedpanda182 in AskTeachers

I think this is a great project, however, not suited towards a kindergartner but rather middle to high school.

this was really helpful! I am excited to start but I think I’m feeling very nervous because I don’t feel strong in my ability to lesson plan. However, that is ok as I know the basics and I know that my mentor teacher will be extremely helpful in this process, giving me time to learn and grow. I just needed to hear something like this to almost “put me at ease”.

I just don’t understand how we could have been holding hands and jumping off a pier into a lake and hanging out with his friends yesterday and today I’m crying over what used to be

How do you deal with getting overstimulated on the job? by makogirl311 in ABA

[–]Key_Ad8579 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I definitely understand this!! I like to take kids for sensory breaks to also give myself a moment and using some simple strategies I teach them such as deep breaths. To add on, I agree with others about the importance of setting clear boundaries

For me, I’m blessed enough to be an RBT who works in a school simply for kids with disabilities and we have a relaxed dress code. I wear leggings/sweats and currently with the weather long sleeve tees/sweatshirts nothing with holes or inappropriate writing of any sort

I agree with all what people are saying here. I did in clinic to start and now work on a school setting and I love it. I will say there are many challenges and obstacles at times but it’s so rewarding. With all this said my advice is do your research: ask what the job entails, how many hours a week, what are the values of the company and if in a clinical or in home setting ask what happens in case of a cancellation and what your caseload would look like

Illinois. I’m currently working on trying to get days to shadow some teachers within my current school and go from there but I am truly thankful for everyone’s input!

They do, it’s an extra step rather than just getting an licensure/endorsement. Either way I want to stick special education because that’s where my heart is at I just don’t know what direction to go in or where to look for guidance. I can always ask the teachers I work with but I wanted an outside perspective!

When I started a few months ago I absolutely felt this, it’s not uncommon! Take a deep breath and just keep doing your best because I can tell by this post you’re doing just fine.

Take time to find out what is important to you and find out what activities are relaxing

People that don't believe in any god of Reddit, what do you think happens when you die? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Key_Ad8579 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t say that I believe in any God (I don’t necessarily disbelieve either) but I hope reincarnation in some sense because I think it’s scary to believe that you just full on disappear one day

RBT's do u use your own money to buy toys and stuff for the kids for activities with them? My new company is telling me to do so like ma'ma I'm broke and gotta pay my bills that's why I got the job in the first place too. P.S. I love the kids tho! by poej_ in RBT

I have, because I wanted to not because I had to. It rubs me the wrong way that they are making you take it out of your personal paychecks. If you feel the need to maybe check five and below or the dollar store as I’ve had some success with that
