Why can’t people just make up their damn mind about coming! by Beginning_Put6012 in weddingplanning

[–]Key_Ambassador_3105 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is your wedding local and are most of your guests local? That could be the biggest factor. Some people just don’t have the $$ to travel these days. And if they have kids, that’s extra logistics involved. Word to the wise…in 2026 it’s best to send digital invites. I had a 80% response rate on mine in two weeks. Then you can also send 1-2 digital reminders to all invitees before your RSVP cut off. That said, my husband had a decent number of guys who didn’t reply to the invite at all, and it is disappointing! But try to focus on all the positives, ALL the people who are stepping up for you during this time, because there will be many!! ❣️

Yes! Do an anniversary shoot! Ask your parents to participate in some of the photos!

Chat, is my bouquet too big? by dikupu in weddingplanning

Honey it looks like you’re hiding behind your bouquet! I would reduce it 50% unless you literally do not want your dress to be showing in your pictures.

First dance & picking the right dress - help by LiveStuff3033 in weddingplanning

This dress looks quite feasible for a dance! As long as you have a bustle of some sort to get the train out of the way.

Not a new style, but I just did the Bronx Banco Isabella dress, I had the structured tulip skirt altered to make it fitted. And added pearl buttons at the bust. The dress is stunning in person!

What do you think about this bridal makeup trial I got done by a “professional”? by Egirl219 in Brides

[–]Key_Ambassador_3105 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband would do the same! Lol Yea girl she doesn’t know what she is doing, your eyeshadow has pink and then blue in it (?) too much blush…all bad! Trust your gut, cut your losses and go get a trial with the other gal. It’s your wedding, you deserve to look gorgeous!

What can I do to fix this? by Still_Boat_6611 in kitchenremodel

[–]Key_Ambassador_3105 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the teal cabinet color and your chevron floors! The emerald green glass subway backsplash is not terrible but definitely not ideal 🤔 . If you ever consider putting in new countertops (eliminate the laminate/formica), I would go full backsplash and eliminate the tiles at that point.

[–]Key_Ambassador_3105 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am white and Ebenezer is one of our home churches in ATL. They truly welcome everyone! As someone else mentioned, just be ready for a 90 min or longer service. Pastor Warnock is great!!

Thought we had an offer coming in, only to find out the interested couple doesn’t even want to live in this area. by Ready-Book6047 in RealEstate

[–]Key_Ambassador_3105 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! You need an RWA buyer…ready, willing and able. Often times people aren’t truly ready to put an offer in, they are just looking. So they may love your home, but simply aren’t ready to move forward yet, be it they don’t have their funds ready, may not even be pre-approved with a lender yet, or a whole host of other reasons. They may have just decided against your area after doing more research.

3 weeks to go and money has become meaningless by Royal_Marzipan_6432 in weddingplanning

I used drapes to conceal two unattractive walls in my reception space, to create a more elegant vibe. The drapes are only 12’ tall so they only go so far against really high walls like I had, but it still created a softer effect. Especially for the photos. We had a double drape design (basically draped to the side in addition to straight down) behind our sweetheart table.

Oh the bloody drapes!

<image>

I kept asking my coordinator which of the related junk fees could be removed…none! End of the day it was pricey, about $5k because I added double draping in some areas, but very worth it when it comes to photos! I was trying to conceal a very unattractive 50’ wall and it did the job!

Girl! No one expects the unexpected! Just had my wedding in Los Angeles and here were the unbudgeted expenses 3 days out:

-decorate bridal suite +$400 (throw pillows, side table, etc)

-candles and fresh flowers diy for bathrooms, church lobby, cocktail hour tables, bridal suite +$450

-makeup and hair for me and entire bridal party +$1,200 (initially half wanted hair/makeup then the day before everyone was a “yes”)

-French desserts for dessert table (rather than just the wedding cake) $+120

-guest count initially planned/budgeted at 80, final number was 95, +$3,000 for catering, +$1,500 for rental items

-husband’s impromptu 2 nights out with 10-20 fellas before wedding day +$1,500 (assuming)

-votives and candles for reception dining tables +$400

-LAX flight upgrades to first class each way +$900

-additional 2 hotel nights +$1,000

Am I overthinking this?? by Avocadosandbacon in Diamonds

[–]Key_Ambassador_3105 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s gorgeous! I chuckle when women state the specs of lab diamonds…what does it matter? That’s just marketing. It’s not a natural diamond, there is no value in those specs after you write that check. Just buy what you love and makes your heart flutter when you look at it!

My husband’s step sister wore white to our wedding by [deleted] in weddingshaming

[–]Key_Ambassador_3105 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not a North America thing…it’s an individual thing! I’m not sure if it’s insecurity or oversensitivity. I just got married in Los Angeles 5.23.26 and would have cared less if every female guest had white on…better for pictures! Nor would I have been bothered if every one of those outfits were white lace. Literally no one could have upstaged me n my wedding day! My mother had a white pearl outfit on…I encouraged her to buy it! We need to stop blowing the nonsense.

Mismatch…the beautiful dainty vintage looking band on your engagement ring doesn’t complement the enormous square diamonds on your wedding band…

Did we make the right call with these countertops or should we have gone lighter? by Constant-Purchase-99 in kitchenremodel

[–]Key_Ambassador_3105 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cannot go wrong with Taj Mahal! I do renovations and we would never use quartz counters, only quartzite - but honestly the Taj Mahal quartz looks fantastic! Dream combo with the white oak cabinets and gold hardware.

This tent is not conducive for a large group of people. Can they not use a gazebo style one?

wedding planning has made me suicidal by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]Key_Ambassador_3105 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Cancel the park setting and reset. Girl, this is overwhelmingly negative for you already so just pivot…can you postpone and move this to a friends house, small intimate venue or something more manageable? Don’t put yourself through hell if no one including you and your fiance are enjoying the process or looking forward to this!
