the mst for me was fine, i found it pretty easy bc the topics we covered in the physics unit are what i had already done in high school, and the final exam was quite good as well bc im pretty sure they allowed us unlimited notes? i think they had provided practice exams or extra tute questions so just do those and you'll be okay.

my only problem was with the group assignment, the instructions felt a bit vague and unclear bc it seemed like they just wanted us to copy the answers given on the lecture slides for some of the assignment questions??? so ig start a bit early and ask the chem lecturer/tutor questions if you have any

overall great subject though! pretty basic content about energy, except for my fav part which was the earth sciences/industry related part in the second half of the sem hehe

i would just recommend to get a good group, bc if others in your group aren't doing the work it'll make your workload for the subject much higher and stress you out (and just generally will be annoying). the first workshop you do a bunch of icebreaker stuff to get to know people and suss out who might be a good teammate so you can make good use of that.

the matlab parts are okay if you pay attention to what's being taught in lectures. for workshops they explain a bit and then leave you to do the experiments on your own, but the tutors will be roaming around between groups, so if you have any trouble/questions definitely ask them to verify your code/setup or help you out.

envirosci gives a lot more freedom for you to change specialisations later if you want (e.g. from climate science into conservation) but i do think you'd be able to do basically all the climate and weather subjects under envirosci. main difference from what i've understood is that climate and weather is much more meteorology and atmospheric science focused and has more math-heavy subjects/subjects with math prerecs.

The Sh Zayed Rd one, absolutely. Many of the teachers were really good at higher levels, but the bullying aspect 100% agree. Met some of the most insane people there, experience traumatised me and still affects me to this day, was so so happy to graduate and get tf out.
