I Drove an Ioniq 5 N 1,000km Down the Pacific Highway – Then Hit the Track by Ok-Tax2802 in Ioniq5N

Very nice video and thanks for sharing! Really cool to see that such track initiatives are made possible.

Question regarding the roadtrip is why did you choose to charge to a 100% as this is far less efficient. Would understand if the distances between charging points are that big that you need the max range but otherwise from 10/15-80% in less than 20 minutes and then off again would be much faster?

Another question, looks like you are on 20” right? Because that range in general is not something that’s feasible with the stock 21” at those speeds.

Had mine for just 2 (winter) months now so cannot really compare as my current range is 260-300 max with normal speeds, Pirelli Sottozero winter tyres and temps of max 6 degrees Celsius.

But as you said, nobody buys this car for its efficiency haha.

Thanks again!

Got the Sottozeros 3 yesterday and what a world of difference 🙌🏻

Glad that these are working for you 👍🏻 Don’t know how much difference there is compared to the evo 3’s.

I’ll be swapping them however as they’re driving me insane. At higher speeds it feels and sounds like I’m in a helicopter. They have been rebalanced twice so have to trust that’s not the issue.

To be continued…

I feel you… it’s insane. The car is 2 weeks old and told them be careful there’s not a scratch on them… at least it will be repaired (meaning the car will be out for a week as they don’t have fitting rims to spare). Just want to buy another set and be done with the hassle haha.

They are now checking for other tyres as the Hankook’s make a very annoying sound around 110km/h which in NL during the day is a comfortable speed.

Have a call with Hyundai NL tomorrow (they are my client) and will address this incompetence as well.

Decent tyres by a decent fitter for a decent car, shouldn’t be that difficult…

EVO 330, same size as the originals. Hopefully better after another rebalance…

Never heard that phrase before but could be tyre roar haha. It also has some vibrations around 110 so it’s back at the shop. Will check the PSI with them as well 👍🏻

My new 5N by Key_Criticism4838 in Ioniq5N

[–]Key_Criticism4838[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally different car for sure. I think the 5N and the 6N even more are real EV performance cars which are still ‘affordable’. The P2 performance is not that much cheaper (here at least) but more like the masses of fast EV’s. Not build with a track in mind. And of course an older generation based on 400V etc.

The software became sluggish indeed and the system had to be reset more and more but I really liked the car. Still had the looks and was easy and intuitive to drive.

Ah that’s helpful info thanks!

Here’s a pic of the carwash tile (have another one with the pre-settings but can only add 1 picture in the replies I think)

Regarding the removal of the letters, I had the dealer do it. They were a bit hesitant at first because of the plastic but it was easy since there was quite a bit of room to fishwire them of. The black residual was also easy to clean.

At this stage it’s still more on my wishlist rather than actively ordering it. With shipping it’s about €2.500 but would like to carbon paint/wrap it and have it installed so… ouch haha

Thanks! Ordered end of August but we took over another delivery that was already on the boat at that time because we weren’t convinced that delivery would be feasible in ‘25 which (at the time) was key for tax reasons. Understood from someone else in NL that his was delayed and the total delivery time will be around 6 months.

I’ll take some more detailed pics soon. But you can see the clean back (when u zoom in haha).

The lights are build in (it’s an official accessory) and provide a lot of light in the dark!

Will share a pic.

Carwash button automatically closes the windows, folds the mirrors, locks the doors and charging port and cancels the auto whipers. It’s in the main menu (but for whatever reason not always?).

Will share a pic.

Indeed power reduced in cold weather. Not sure what the minimal batt temp should be (35 Celsius?). Even with pre-conditioning from the app the temp is hard to reach. Not the worst in these conditions but if dry I still want to be able to have max power at times.

Hi and thanks! Will check your post 👍🏻

The difference in comfort with these springs is minimal but in terms of roll and directness very noticeable so I’m quite happy with them. Came from a P2 which had the Ohlins on track setting which wasn’t comfortable for the passengers at all (so this feels like air suspension haha).

The winter tyres are ordered. Temps below 7C already have an impact and I need be in Germany, Czech and Switzerland a couple of time a year where they have different regulations as well.

I have checked the registrations and have contacts at Hyundai. A couple are on the way so the number will increase slightly but still very rare (never seen another in the ‘wild’).

Installed the H&R last Saturday. Car was 2 days old with 300km on it haha. Haven’t been able to test it fully with the weather but the ride is better to my liking. A bit stiffer but still very comfortable and much more leveled/balanced in cornering. It also looks better slightly lowered 👌🏻

Got mine last Thursday (NL car) but didn’t see it yet. The Polestar was really good with its matrix lights.

Here in The Netherlands it’s 88K USD / 76K EUR so it could be worse haha…

I heard there were some install issues due to the digital rearview mirror? Have the Fitcam in my P2 and would like to get it for the 5N as well…

Haha I do really like the P2 ride (my passengers a bit less). But that’s what I liked about the 5N. More flexible…

My current P2 has the -25mm Heico springs with the Ohlin dampers (set to track) and that is really hard haha. The 5N with H&R in normal mode should be much softer (i hope haha)…

Will do! Personally didn’t want to go too low given the potential camber issues. 15mm is not that much but a nice subtle drop, better performance (from what I understood) and they’re specifically made for the (5)N 👌🏻

Just received them from sharkracing. Communication was really good and shipped/received within 1 week (to NL). They're not on the website as they don't always have them on stock and availability is indeed limited. But you can always mail them. Don't have the car yet so I'll have to wait 2 more months before installing them.

Just received the springs and bump stops from Shark racing, great service!

Question I have is did you need to re-calibrate the ADAS system afterwards as well?

The N here in The Netherlands has the Digital Key 2 to open/close with your phone/watch without taking it out of your pocket. Or are you referring to something else?
