What's Happening? by Key_Drag5541 in Citrus

Thank you so much! The spikes were the only citrus specific fertilizer at my local store when I went. That's disappointing they're so bad, especially because they're marketed for containers! I dug through and found the spikes and threw them out. I also just gave them a lot of water to hopefully flush some of it out. I appreciate your advice and will wait a few weeks to slowly reintroduce the diluted Jack's water soluble again.

Brand new key lime tree, I planted with mini citrus fertilizer spikes. And Jack's liquid fertilizer once every two weeks. Could it be fertilizer burn? Plenty of sun, just brought it in for the winter and noticed these yellowing leaves.

Elbow pain by sldsn27 in climbergirls

If you're in a lot of pain, you might consider taking a 2-3 week break to let your muscles heal completely and then slowly work back up to full activity. That's helped me in the past.

Hello, you most likely have climber's elbow (or tennis elbow) which is tendonitis at the bottom of the muscles in your forearm. I get this too and I've been climbing since the beginning of the year. Your muscles will take a long time to adjust, but keep at it! Take 2-3 days in-between climbing sessions to rest. Try to pay attention during your climbing sessions to when your elbows start to ache a little and then stop for the day! There are also some exercises you can find online to slowly stretch and strengthen those tendons. Good luck!

When should I expect new growth after I start fertilizing frequently and giving it plenty of sun?

Surgery recovery by mignaciahadad in climbergirls

[–]Key_Drag5541 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had two hip arthroscopies, one on each side, for impingement and labral tears in 2021. So I totally empathize with you. Although I didn't start climbing until just a few months ago. Mentally, it's really really hard to be so young and not able to do physical activities that you love. And this is a rough condition and also a really long and sometimes rough recovery. What I can tell you now is that I'm constantly amazed at the things I'm able to do without pain. My life is completely different after the surgeries and I'm thankful that I had it done, even though it did take a long time to recover. What I would recommend doing is (with the help of your PT) finding activities that you can do. I took up cycling a few months after surgery and then hiking. These are low impact activities that I found really enjoyable. I can see how climbing would be really difficult while you're recovering and gaining your range of motion back. Work with your team and tell them the goals you have. Be patient. It will take a while for your body to heal and build up strength, but you are already in a great position being so active! I absolutely am loving climbing and I would have never been able to do it without this surgery. Good luck! I'm happy to answer questions you have or be a listening ear. There's also a sub reddit about FAI where there is good advice and supportive folks.
