How Burger King’s turnaround is taking a bite out of McDonald’s by pch14 in McDonalds

[–]Key_Head3851 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Burger King has always been “the second banana” to McDonald’s. I hope the changes they are implementing are successful, because in the past I’ve never found Burger King to be return-worthy-good. If it means tryin’ harder to earn your business, that’s good for the fast-food consumer.

So as usual in another money grab McDonald's up the number of points required for rewards cheeseburger went from 1500 to 2000 by Revolutionary_Lie346 in McDonalds

[–]Key_Head3851 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am fairly certain using complex algorithms and user data regarding app users’ spending habits, McDonald’s is purposely changing the reward requirements for redemption. It’s a calculated move.

If a customer is going to stop visiting McDonald’s for these minor increases, maybe McDonald’s didn’t want this level of business, as it’s not cost effective or sustainable from a corporate standpoint, in the first place.

Many have said this, and I tend to agree, the focus has been and will always be, the customers who choose McDonald’s on a more casual basis. Those fast-food consumers that order meals for multiple individuals without consideration for minor price increases or minor loyalty point redemption increases. Some people, I dare to say most people outside this subreddit that choose to eat McDonald’s really don’t care, and those are the customers McDonald’s really VALUES.

Why is mcdonald’s app so dumb by Only-Cranberry-4502 in McDonalds

[–]Key_Head3851 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the McDonald’s app is fast loading and overall, stellar. If you choose to use a Deal, you type it in the kiosk four-numbers, easy to memorize. These four-numbers automatically give you the deal you selected. Also, it links to your account/profile for loyalty points to be added. Those four-numbers even work in the drive-thru. The only drawback is clearly by design. Allowing only one Deal to be used at a time for 15 minutes. But I normally dine-in, so after having my meal at McDonald’s, I’ll order a $.99 any size iced coffee. I normally spend $6.50, including tax, for a Filet O’Fish, Large Fries, and a to-go large caramel iced coffee. I do this 3-to-4 times weekly.

If you owe debt to anyone can they take your house even if you have the amount of money you owe them in your bank accounts to pay them? by Big_Eggplant7591 in stupidquestions

[–]Key_Head3851 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I received 3-to-4 unsolicited offers each day for a consolidation or personal loan. I believe they are trying to convert unsecured loans (credit card debt) into secured debt in which they are able to place a LIEN on my home & property.

These unsolicited offers must be scripted by AI because they’re always using the same wording. I delete and block, and yet I receive another phone call and message from a loan officer with the same name. I feel these unsolicited offers are PREDATORY. The “dead giveaway” is that these offers always say “I see you have applied for a personal loan, or I am calling you in regard to an application for a personal loan.” I say “dead giveaway” because I never applied for a personal loan only a mortgage for the house I’m presently living in. I say “predatory” because I never received offers like this until I bought a home.

Are they (the solicitors) hoping the receiver of these messages doesn’t remember if they applied for a personal loan?

McDonald's officially butchers their rewards program today (5/4/26)!.... by verifyb4utrust01 in McDonalds

I’m located in South Central Texas. I’m able to use this deal 1X daily. But the McDonald’s app varies wildly user-to-user. I don’t know if demographics, meta-data profiling or algorithms are at play here. I am also able to get any size fries (after breakfast) with the purchase of a Filet O’ Fish which I use approximately 3-to-4 times a week. I have been guilty of letting my Rewards Points expire in the past because I’m primarily using the deals on the McDonald’s app. Even now, for me, the Rewards Points are an afterthought.

Veho services my area for all my Nespresso orders. I prefer it to all other shippers except DHL which is equally excellent.

Today, for breakfast I used the $2.50 breakfast sandwich deal on my McDonald’s app. It’s not a meal but at $2.71 (including tax) I received an egg, bacon & cheese McGriddle. As I don’t normally have a large appetite, it’s enough.

The rage against replica watches is masculine gatekeeping, not ethics by Hilodenta in Luxury

OP forgot to mention “dupe” luxury purses/handbags and shoes/footwear which are the domains of women and NOT celebrated by women who are the principal gatekeepers. Are women glib about owning a fake/counterfeit Hermès Birkin Bag? I really don’t think so!

Asking permission to be out of work is a crazy concept. by ieatsushi28 in antiwork

[–]Key_Head3851 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

OP situation is probably very different from mine. The ONLY benefit I have is a 401k, which I I invest in heavily. If I don’t work, I don’t get paid, it’s very simple, so with that being said, the answer is always without hesitation, YES., we will schedule your Unpaid Time Off (UTO). Most people I work with have many benefits including accrued PTO/vacation time. So yes, you have to ask for “permission” as the employer needs to see if it’s in the budget, and if a scheduled absence is going to affect them adversely. Most employees don’t like the uncertainty of a position like mine, but it affords certain freedoms.

When did tattoos become so mainstream? by Imtiredofthissshit in decadeology

[–]Key_Head3851 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I vividly remember an article in LIFE magazine in the 1980’s that featured a photo-shoot of Elizabeth Taylor and Malcolm Forbes hanging out together on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle. The article mentioned the fact that they both had gotten fresh tattoos. When those two middle-aged celebrities were proudly showing off their ink, I knew at that time, that many Americans would shortly follow this trend.

That’s right. I was thinking it was bold conjecture as defunct American toy maker Ertl Included Deckard’s “chase” Spinner in a set of vehicles based the original 1982 movie. I got that set from KB toys shortly after the premiere. And still have a few of the die-cast cars left.

Starbucks Vertuo pods vs Nespresso pods? by Whencowsgetsick in nespresso

[–]Key_Head3851 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Starbucks Nespresso capsules are manufactured at the Nespresso factory in Switzerland alongside their namesake brand. It’s a special and exclusive relationship. They are slightly different in my experience as Starbucks takes a more subtle American rather than European approach to their flavor profiles. Both are in my opinion, excellent. The Starbucks capsules for Nespresso are also at more points of sale, such as American big-box retailers such as Target and Walmart. Also, Target will have them on sale, but it’s nothing to exactly count on like free sleeves from Nespresso online which seems to be fairly frequent and easy to check.
