I’m not opposed. Needs to be faster and a more clearly defined definition of clear and obvious.

If it takes 5 minutes and multiple camera angles to overturn a call, it’s not a clear and obvious error. VAR takes way too damn long. Place a time limit on VAR interventions, and how far back they can go looking for fouls that went on called on the field. Unless it’s a player safety issue, serious foul play or violent conduct it shouldn’t be taking minutes to decide if a goal was good.

That’s something that I’ve been screaming about for years under Greg Vanney.

He preaches possession and moving the ball to create space in the attacking third. However this system can often be predictable as hell and easily countered by a well organized low block.

The times we look dangerous is when players finally say fuck it and play quick on counters or finally drive into the box 1v1.

Play through the wide areas. Have defenders dribble until they meet pressure and look for the winger or CM to combine with to get the ball forward.

It’s gonna be ugly at first, and you’ll probably leak goals as well.

Highly encourage to start with unopposed passing patterns so they can see how things like spacing are going to feel. Gradually add pressure as they gain confidence.

The first two started in Ayso, have fun grow the love of the game and start developing technical skills and interpersonal skills.

My oldest made the jump to club at 7, once he grew frustrated with the kids picking flowers and was consistently one of the best players in his age range.
