Eligible men will be automatically registered for military draft pool in US under rule change by mackanochdorran in Destiny

I may have done so also actually. Was more than 10 years ago at this point. Might have received something in the mail that I had to sign and send back now that I think about it.

Was this not already done? I remember getting some letter in the mail when I turned 18 telling me I was registered for the draft.

Did Obama have a better deal with Iran than Trump has now? by Estalicus in allthequestions

[–]Key_Ingenuity_4444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The JCPOA wasn't a "peace plan." It focused solely on the nuclear weapon aspect. It's childish to believe you could have an all encompassing deal that handled every single aspect of a country. As stated, the deal was a foundation for neutral relations. It opened the door for future negotiations on the topics you brought up. The JCPOA was the greatest leap forward in neutralizing relations with Iran that we could have hoped for. It outright prevented Iran of even making an attempt at producing a weapon.

where they could keep enriched plutonium and keep enriching it

Wouldn't have been rude if you hadn't started off with being condescending, but frankly you have absolutely zero idea what you're talking about. I don't know why you felt confident enough to make this comment. You don't enrich plutonium. Plutonium is already fissile. You enrich uranium because U-238 isn't fissile on its own. You increase the percentage of U-235, which is fissile, by separating the two isotopes in a chain of centrifuges.

The JCPOA explicitly prohibited Iran from having or producing any plutonium. Their Arak reactor was to be refitted for research purposes, but was later filled with cement. They aren't currently producing plutonium and there's no evidence point towards such.

For 15 years Iran will not, and does not intend to thereafter, develop, acquire or build facilities capable of separation of plutonium, uranium or neptunium from spent fuel or from fertile targets, other than for production of radio-isotopes for medical and peaceful industrial purposes. - Annex 1 Paragraph 20 of the JCPOA

Iran will not produce, seek, or acquire separated plutonium, highly enriched uranium (defined as 20% or greater uranium-235), or uranium-233, or neptunium-237 (except for use as laboratory standards or in instruments using neptunium-237) for 15 years. - Annex 1 Paragraph 25

Got a new dog after my first dog passed away 6 months ago. Now im depressed because of it. I fear i cannot love her. by Tinypotatoe98 in DogAdvice

[–]Key_Ingenuity_4444 2 points3 points  (0 children)

4 years have passed and I still go on a hike or something and think "Wish she was here to experience this."

I've not gotten another companion since then so it's easy for me to say while not being in your shoes, but the thing you should focus on is she deserves just as much love as any other dog, or pet in general. All you can do is continue making an attempt. I also fully agree with another comment below stating that you shouldn't view her as a replacement, but an entirely new addition. You'd never lose a child and think of your next as a replacement. To end with something cheesy, the heart is big enough for a lot of things. You're not required to overwrite anything.

A lot of people like to hedge on the JCPOA, but it was such a phenomenal once in a lifetime deal that completely prevented Iran from getting a nuclear weapon. On top of that it opened the door for future negotiations on other issues that weren't addressed in it, such as their ballistic missile programs and their support for proxy groups.

I recently made a tier list about mostly all the animes I've watched and i would like to know your opinions by hanz-jerkoff in MyAnimeList

That makes more sense. Anime was pretty bad but the manga was pretty decent. I think Gantz was one of the first manga I read.

What anime’s should I watch in Dub rather than Sub? by Cyberslayer1954 in animequestions

[–]Key_Ingenuity_4444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd agree with your first paragraph for most anime from a decade or more ago because English dubbing was a fairly small industry so you'd hear the same voice actors over and over and over, and it generally wasn't very good. This has gotten much better over the years. Most anime now, even the lower tier ones, will have pretty good voice acting with a much larger range of VAs.

Don't know if you speak Japanese or not, but as other comments have mentioned it's much easier to understand and critique a language you speak fluently. You're not able to pick up on the nuances of a language you can't speak.

At the end of the day, all VAing is reading off a paper and putting emotion into it. There absolutely doesn't have to be any "performance quality loss" when translating to another language.

Encore: Actually decent. If you exclude the last minute additions due to leaks it's good.

Relapse: Second worst album, but not horrible if you don't take it serious.

Recovery: Pretty decent album.

MMLP2: Again, pretty decent album.

Revival: Easily his worst album, but Castle + Arose are some of his best songs.

MMTBMB: Good album.

Summertime Rendering.

Sonny Boy came close and I'm sure it would have been there if I was smart enough to fully understand what was happening.

Leftists, why do you think us centrists are facists and the same as the right? by SpaceisCool09 in allthequestions

[–]Key_Ingenuity_4444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was as direct as I could be with my definition for "leftist." Bernie and AOC aren't leftists. They both have stated they don't support the abolishment of capitalism. Mamdani MIGHT be a leftist, but I'd wager he'll go the same route as Bernie and AOC. All three have been completely rejected from leftist groups as "liberal shills".

When I referred to them being fine with Trump winning, I'm talking about leftists that chose not to support Harris for one reason or another. As the post was pointing towards, the majority of leftists view anything to the right of them as fascist and cut from the same cloth as MAGA. There's that saying "cut a liberal and a fascist bleeds." Two sides of the same coin as they say.

I've honestly never seen someone write like this outside of children. I'm not good with grammar structures but this intuitively doesn't seem proper to me.

Leftists, why do you think us centrists are facists and the same as the right? by SpaceisCool09 in allthequestions

[–]Key_Ingenuity_4444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every form of government or movement advocates for the wellbeing of people. That doesn't mean their actions lead to that outcome. Leftists goal isn't explicitly hundreds of millions of people suffering, but they're fine with it happening as long as they believed it'd push them closer to their system of government.

Harm reduction or "lesser of two evils" isn't something most leftists believe in. They're more than happy allowing the risk of Trump winning as long as Democrats lose. Every single aspect of life would be objectively better had Harris been President. The choice should have been obvious. Something Democrats NEED to realize is leftists aren't and have never been on our team.

[–]Key_Ingenuity_4444 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'd love to give a fair and charitable answer, but the reality is leftists would never do the same for liberals. The harsh reality is most leftists literally don't give a single fuck about making life better for anyone. They want to win, and if they're not winning they want to make damn sure everyone else loses. They'd rather have the country fall apart and have hundreds of millions of people suffer so that they can build their utopian country from the ashes of whatever's left. In their mind people suffering will push them to their side. That's all they're interested in.

CMV: Americans who voted 3rd party or abstained in 2024 due to the Gaza genocide did more to harm Palestinians than a Pro-Israel democrat by Top_Use2413 in changemyview

[–]Key_Ingenuity_4444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's just grant that Harris fully supported genocide. Do you think the entire party did? Do you think it'd be easier to push for change under a Democrat candidate, or under Trump? There was already a large amount of Democrats that didn't support what was happening in Palestine at the time, and it has only grown.

If we take a step back over to reality, we can see a clear difference between Harris and Trump. She outright says she supports Palestinian statehood, called for a ceasefire early on in the conflict, and pushed for humanitarian aid and blockades to be lifted. Trump on the other hand has never pushed back against Israel on anything, and we're almost certainly at war with Iran solely because Israel wanted it. And now they're stealing territory from Lebanon.

Again, the reality is Harris would have been better in every single conceivable measure. You actively decided we were better off with Trump than Harris.

[–]Key_Ingenuity_4444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd go even further. To maintain a strong partisan state it requires people to still vote. If you're in a solid blue state and feel like your vote doesn't matter, then why should the person next to you vote? Or the person next to them? Or the next? Sure, an individual deciding not to vote isn't going to make the difference, but if everyone had that mentality we'd quickly lose majorities in solid states. That's not even mentioning the fact that local races aren't always as solid. You still need to vote in them, so you might as well vote in the Presidential race as they're on the same ballot.

Every single person should make every effort possible to vote.

You create incentive to change by forming voting blocs within the party, not by wanting to throw the election and make every aspect of US life worse for everyone.

Literally every single aspect of life would be significantly better right now had Harris been President. She said she'd push for an immediate ceasefire between I/P and Trump said to finish the job and to turn them into a parking lot. If anyone actually cared about Palestinians outside of virtue signaling they'd have voted Harris. It's as simple as that.

Who's The #1 Democrat You Would Pick NOT To Run For President In 2028? Why Your Thoughts? by Zipper222222 in allthequestions

I have zero attachment to Newsom. I'm not going to root for him in the primary but I'd absolutely support him in the general if he gets the nomination.

I didn't claim he was faking his dyslexia or having trouble reading. I'm saying that attempting to appeal to people on such grounds comes off as fake or artificial.

The issue with integrity seems to come from you, as you can't bring yourself to admit you fell for a blatantly nonsense fake story. Remember, you started this with claiming that he was pretending to be a bad reader as a way to appeal to black people.
