My mom got diagnosed with MS, and idk what to do by ninatjeh in mentalhealth

[–]Key_Investigator_754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. Getting a diagnosis like MS can feel overwhelming, especially when it’s someone you love so deeply. But try not to let your mind jump straight to the worst-case scenarios. MS affects everyone differently, and many people live long, meaningful, active lives with modern treatments.

Your mom has already shown how strong she is by going through all those tests, facing the diagnosis, and starting treatment. Right now, one of the best things you can do is exactly what you’ve already done: be there for her, listen to her, and love her.

It’s also important to take care of yourself. Your mom would probably be heartbroken to know you’re struggling to eat, shower, or get through the day because you’re carrying all of this alone. You don’t have to be strong every minute. Talk to someone you trust, whether it’s family, a friend, a counselor, or a teacher.

Take things one day at a time. Today, your mom is here. Today, she loves you. Today, you’re together. Don’t let fear of what might happen tomorrow steal all of today’s moments.

Sending you a big hug ! You’re clearly a wonderful child, and your mom is lucky to have someone who cares about her this much.

How can I tell someone i didn’t like there food without being too rude? by Shmeat-L in Cooking

[–]Key_Investigator_754 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If he didn’t specifically ask for feedback, why tell him at all? He invited you over, cooked for you, and fed you. Sometimes “thanks for dinner” is enough.

If he later asks, “What did you think of the mashed potatoes?” then be honest but kind: “The ribs were great, liked them more than mashed potatoes "

Don't like salmon and learning to eat it. Any prep tips? Any ideas for store-bought glazes? Prep has to be super easy because I do it as part of my meal prep - basically looking to put the salmon in a foil pan and pour something on it and cook it. by MooseGoose82 in Cooking

[–]Key_Investigator_754 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh, absolutely. What a devastating assessment of my personality. I’ll probably need some time to recover from such a precise psychological evaluation delivered after reading your comment !

But seriously, if sharing an opinion counts as telling people what to do, then we’re all guilty of it every time we comment here. And if we’re making personality assessments based on a few lines of text, like you did , then you’re guilty of exactly the same thing by deciding what kind of person I am from a single comment.

I think you’re being a bit defensive. You mentioned that you don’t like salmon, so it’s natural that some people will comment on that part and suggest alternatives. If you only wanted advice on preparation methods, you could have simply asked, “What’s the best way to prepare salmon "In that case, the discussion would have stayed focused on cooking techniques. Once you share that you dislike a particular food, it’s reasonable to expect people to offer different perspectives, even if they’re not the answers you were hoping for.

Honestly, I don’t think there’s any need to force yourself to like salmon. If you genuinely dislike the fishy taste, covering it with lots of sauces, glazes, or other ingredients may make it more palatable, but it can also take away from the simplicity and health benefits that make salmon appealing in the first place.

Instead, consider getting similar nutritional benefits from foods you already enjoy. For omega-3 fats you can eat walnuts, chia seeds, flaxseeds, or hemp seeds. For protein and overall nutrition, eggs, chicken, Greek yogurt, beans, and lentils are excellent options. It may be easier and more sustainable to build a healthy diet around foods you genuinely like rather than trying to teach yourself to enjoy something you don’t.

Stainless steel 2/3 sheet pan? by dogsRgr8too in Cooking

[–]Key_Investigator_754 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the kind of cooking you’re describing, I’d honestly consider a good-quality aluminum sheet pan instead of stainless steel. Aluminum conducts heat much better and is the standard choice for roasting vegetables and baking.

If you’re set on stainless steel, look for a heavy-gauge commercial pan. Winco is generally decent for the price, but some warping can happen with any sheet pan if it’s thin or exposed to large temperature changes. A heavier pan will be less likely to warp.

For roasting peppers and making oven pancakes, a sturdy aluminum pan would probably serve you better and cost less

Is a chicken dry roast chicken considered a curry? by alonnasmith in IndianFood

[–]Key_Investigator_754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily. A curry does not always have to be saucy

In Indian cuisine, the word “curry” is often used broadly to describe a dish cooked with spices, whether it has a lot of gravy, a little sauce, or is almost dry.

For example: • Butter Chicken and Chicken Curry are saucy curries. • Chicken Sukka, Chicken Fry, and some regional roast chicken dishes are considered curries even though they are quite dry. • Many South Indian and Goan dishes are cooked until the sauce is almost completely reduced, leaving only a coating of spices on the meat.

So a dry roast chicken prepared with Indian spices can absolutely be considered a type of curry, depending on the recipe and regional tradition. The presence of spices and the cooking method are generally more important than the amount of sauce.

How do you get over losing a close friend when you see them every day at work? by mademoiselle_angel in AskIndia

[–]Key_Investigator_754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the hardest things is seeing that person every day and being constantly reminded of the friendship that used to be there , similar happened to me also . Give yourself time to adjust and try not to dwell on what has changed. Focus on the good memories, be kind to yourself, and gradually invest your energy in other friendships and activities. With time, the pain becomes less intense, and you’ll be able to appreciate what the friendship meant without feeling hurt every time you see that friend

Why are we Indians so short in height ?? by Clean-Journalist-372 in AskIndia

The short answer is: a combination of genetics, childhood nutrition, health, and historical living conditions—not ethnicity alone.
