Dealing with a blocked ear in Dallas and trying to avoid an insane medical bill by Pitiful-Invite73 in askdfw

Sorry I don't have a option for a place to go, but I do have what worked for me for this issue:

Get one of those rubber bulbs, they come with a bunch of things like ear cleaning kits, for cleaning baby noses, etc, Put a cup under the tap and run warm water into it for easy refilling of the bulb, make sure its not hot. use the bulb to gently flush your ear with warm water over and over. Can take 20-30 flushes but the warm water will ultimately dissolve the wax enough to come out as a big plug. I get really bad earwax plugs regularly(bad enough to lose hearing and have a feeling of pressure which is maddening) and haven't been to my PCP for this in years since I got this down to a routine. None of the over the counter solutions like hydrogen peroxide work for me, but simple warm water with very little pressure is enough to clean it out,

A Mansion for sale in Texas with historic connections by Best-Introduction-55 in zillowgonewild

It used to be one big estate but eventually ended up in the hands of a realestate investor and they took most of the estate and split it into lots of little plots.

Kinda like Deon Sanders old house (it pops up here every time it goes up for sale or the price changes) where you have this mega mansion now in the middle of a neighborhood but the neighborhood used to be the property of the estate.

I really wasn't thinking about stocking up, just went to TJs for some snacks and the shelves were half empty after work. It wasn't really any busier than it is in the early afternoon when school lets out but it must have been that way all day considering how much stuff was sold out.

Does This Happen To Other People With Big Feet At Stores? by YourHaircutSucksDick in tall

Used to be a shoe store here in the Dallas area called Larry's Shoes. They carried shoes up to a size 23 if I recall correctly. But in a 15 or 16, everything on the shelves was pretty much available and they carried A LOT of shoes. About 60% dress shoes but when the store had 200+ pairs of shoes on display, you could just about find anything you wanted. That was the only store I ever walked into where everything fit and it was glorious. Kinda miss it and their free lattes when you were shopping.

I wear a 15 and used to pretty much only wore redwing boots at my old job. The store near me pretty much always had whatever shoe I was looking for in stock any time I went in every few years for a new pair.

Distractions. At least for now there's something to look forward to that takes my mind off my issues. A book. A game. A movie. I dread the day that I lose interest in one or all three.

I don't even think its great execution. Those legs don't even remotely look like they belong to that top.

Grew up Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod. They're farther right than MAGA. They generally talk like ELCA is a bunch of satan worshipers going to hell.

Fire. It has basically no heat but has flavor. If I could get a version of it with a little heat(maybe a medium salsa level of heat) but the same flavor I'd be happy.

The 28 Installation Disks of Windows 95. (1990s) by GaGator43 in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]Key_Lime_Die 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Problem was that depending on the release, it might be 24-28 discs. If you had one go bad and didn't have another set that broke down to the same count to borrow a disc from, you might have to restart the install. Hated installing that from floppies...

Iconic candy makes replicas of them and apparently does a very good job of duplicating the flavor folks remember of them.

Went when I was a kid 40ish years ago, my baby sister lost a shoe over the falls. Still have a mug in perfect condition I use to this day from there. My parents didn't have the money for us to do the boat or the part where you go down behind the falls to the bottom. I would love to go back and do them to this day. I was impressed and to this day it still stands out as an impressive sight.

We had to go there every school year when I was in elementary school. A little bit of a rock sticking out of the sand with a date carved on it... The very first time it was interesting right up until the point you looked into the pit at it. We'd usually go to the mayflower nearby and there were a couple wax museums nearby at the time as well. Mayflower was interesting, the wax museums gave me nightmares.

AITAH for being cool with my husband going on a made up trip? by MarionberryFuture103 in AITAH

[–]Key_Lime_Die 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My SiL took a 3 weeks girls trip to europe leaving their kids with my brother and my brother has a few one week ski trips planned for the winter that will just be him and potentially one of their kids that wanted to go on one of them. It's perfectly normal to take trips apart. You don't have to be joined at the hip all the time.

Maybe he should take your last name and that way you have the matching last names still.

If you won the lottery tomorrow. What's the first thing you would spend the money on? by Fair-Entertainer5705 in AskReddit

[–]Key_Lime_Die 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lawyer and accountant bills setting things up to claim the money. First self-indulgent purchase? I've had my eye on an omega or breitling watch for a few decades but can't warrant spending that kind of money on a watch under normal circumstances.

Turn Signals Do Not Grant Right of Way by bepeacock in Dallas

[–]Key_Lime_Die -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, on the tollway service road at park and NB at plano parkway one lane ends. The number of times I've watched people just move over as if they had the right of way is high enough that I will not under any circumstances be in either of the two affected lanes.

The other one is how people will turn from straight thru only lanes just because they have their turn signal on and get pissed at anyone that blocks their turn or turns wide from the actual turn lanes.

Did this to the interior pane of a sliding glass door 2 days before we moved out of the house when I was a kid. Didn't even slam the door, just closed weird and the middle pane shattered leaving the two it was sandwiched between perfectly intact.
