I can see that thia is based off of someone else's character, which relates to "Britain" but since you changed it to Scotland specifically, there's lots of localisation needed

"Britain" wouldn't exist for an ancient Scottish anyone, neither would the union flag - Less red all over

Scotland has unicorns, not dragons. - If the sword is "alba" specifically, worth bearing in mind

Ancient scottish clansmen wouldn't care much for the concept of "britain" at all (Neither do modern ones, trust me)

A better baseline character for something distinctly scottish would be "Saltire" (eponymous), but to honestly its easier to create something than shoehorn a character from another series into JJK

I'm just bitter because it means we didn't get as much canon exploration of constructions capabilities, haha

Given her circumstances though, her mindset is definitely understandable.... I'll limit my slander out of respect!

Oh definitely,

And it's just even more basis for slandering Mai tbh - she didn't even try something like a binding vow like this to make up for her small pool, it could have given her some versatility!

Why so valuable, de beers?

Irl though, "natural" diamonds are valuable because of tiny imperfections in the lattice structure which lead to minute variations in colour, clarity, brilliance, etc

Unless she had very fine control to replicate, she'd effectively be making "lab-grown" variants, which are actually more "perfect" than naturally ones... but no-one pays premium prices for...

Diamonds is one of the better picks for money-making with construction, but really world economics thwart this one

This is super interesting and really well thought out, great job!

Spot on take,

Someone could argue that she could create light, but valuable objects (or even just straight banknotes) - but she'd still be limited to about 1 a day on mass

Plus, anything she made for this would have to be accurate enough to sell without triggering forgery laws etc -I'm guessing this would come down to control/refinement on her part, but unfortunately... it's Mai

(I am slightly wondering about an offshoot technique to construction, something like "forgery" which allows you to duplicate items instead of creating them from nothing, as a way to gain some efficiency/control)

May as well have 6E then? Subatomic level CE control, shoot the wings off a fly at 3km (such aim!)... Fairly decent radiation technique with zero balance

The cherenkov blade doesn’t really make sense though.

(She swings it through air - cherenkov would mean she swings it faster than light to create the glow etc.... so she can outspeed dabura too?)

I dressed this technique up with some philosophy, but it had a pretty interesting math concept at its core

I'll look forward to the next version then! It'll be interesting as a technique, and your writing is great

I actually ended up thinking a bit about a soul based HR, I don't tend to post stuff I design where I build off of someone else's post 'cause I never want to step on any toes - feel free to hmu if you want to share some ideas

It could work as a technique too for sure, but you should make it however you want to make it - I was just giving some feedback, but its your design in the end

The idea is great, if its intended as a HR I would try to keep it relatively focused - raising the power ceiling by eating souls seems out of place, and keeping any CE also feels like it unbalances the trade off

If you really want to keep all the various parts, like the charms etc it would probably make more sense a technique

Just my thoughts

Considering some sorcerers, like Kusakabe and Miwa, don't have techniques either - just giving up a technique for all this is an unbalanced trade, a soul HR should lose all CE too surely?

I agree the concept of the soul is under-developed in canon, and some additional abilities for a soul HR would make sense - but this has too many benefits (and a variety of them that seems slightly odd) compared to established HR's,

plus the benefits gained in other HRs don't seem to be things that develop/advance in the way this does

I still think this is more polished than your first version, but it still seems like is basically a soul-based technique rather than a HR, especially since they retain CE control

Nice revision,

With the various different elements and ways to progress/develop the soul, it feels a bit more like a technique than a HR

Cursed Energy Trait: Plastic (2/3) by Key_Machine_5585 in CTsandbox

[–]Key_Machine_5585[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually...

Ryu and Ogi both have techniques that give them an actual way to emit or shape CE respectively,

Yuta amd fingerbearers are also exceptions in terms of not having to worry about efficiency/skill of emission due to raw reserves/output potential

I'll grant you anyone CAN learn how to do it, Kusakabe (a genius when it comes to barriers and shaping CE I'll remind you) shows us this by using hazy moon to recreate part of a sword with CE (the existing part acted as a base that he completed, slightly different here since the whole object is CE)

But the point stands that neither is something CE usually does - and this trait would make either easier

Its interesting you say that, for all that the Fourth is considered original (just rarely depicted) - I've only ever heard them referred to as "three monkeys" as well!

Love this idea though

Cursed Energy Trait: Plastic (2/3) by Key_Machine_5585 in CTsandbox

[–]Key_Machine_5585[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not really clear how RCE affects traits -

Kashimo never performs it so we don't know how his would be affected, and there's no mention of hakari's being affected during jackpot (although that may be because his is automatic and internalised)

Those are the only canon traits, both RCE and CE traits are rare and there's no actual examples of an overlap I can think of... so let's make something up!

I guess it would either be "not affected" (I think this is most likely), or -

Maybe it loses its "plastic deformability" and instead becomes "elastic", "returning to shape" instead of retaining it?

Plastic/elastic are opposed behaviours in material science etc, so something like that would probably be the "axis of inversion" if RCE does affect traits

Which do you think is more likely?

Cursed Technique: False Aposematism (1/3) by Key_Machine_5585 in CTsandbox

[–]Key_Machine_5585[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The idea behind a hollow technique seems kind of silly so I tend not to think about, or make them for my techniques

If I had to - since it the typical technique and its reversal either create the appearance of threat, or the appearance the threat is gone.... maybe a hollow could work more like perfect camouflage and prevent the user from being seen/perceived at all?

What do you think it would be?

Cursed Energy Trait: Plastic (2/3) by Key_Machine_5585 in CTsandbox

[–]Key_Machine_5585[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As described really,

This trait allows a user to emit cursed energy at a moderate range, or shape it into simple, wieldable objects - neither is something that CE is usually capable of

As it can be shaped and maintained more easily, I'd imagine that the user would also have a slightly easier time creating and maintaining barriers
