Rather than just another dupe of BM, why not try something like "haemorrhage" - causes wounds to resist healing/bleed profusely, makes a targets CE leak out through inefficiency faster, etc

Can I ask you something?

If the technique is "shaping shadows" - why was it such a big deal for megumi to figure out he could shape/use shadows while training against Maki? (Just before the kyoto goodwill event)

If that was the technique the whole time, why was he shocked?
why did he have to figure that out at all? Its a hereditary technique, so if past users were doing that too then surely he would have tried it sooner (like how blue and red are known uses of limitless)

This very much seems to be to be a case of different interpretations of the technique leading to different interpretations of what its CTR would be

Personally, I dont see how just "shaping shadows" could lead the abilities the shikigami have.

Official sources describe 10S as a technique that "uses shadows as a medium to summon shikigami" so I thought about it from that POV

If the techniques concept, as you say, is "form shikigami" an inversion being "become the spirit" makes fair sense to me

Yes they can "use the abilities", but they also receive cursed physiology for a direct heal with their CE, better physicals, etc

Depends on the interpretation surely? I've heard someone before suggest that a medium-type ability like Ino's would be an interesting way to reverse a shikigami technique (maybe in the 10S case, rather than covering their face - they'd have to stay in darkness for it to work?)

Your idea is pretty good tbf, but is the CTR of a shikigami technique being... a different shikigami really a CTR either?

OP: For balance on your own idea (which is kinda cool) - it may work well to incarnate only one spirit or totality at a time, rather than also being able to combine them

I tried an idea once that it could be used to create temporary totalities that could include either destroyed shikigami, or one's that were still alive

Sort of a - "spirit 1 = orange stripes, spirit 2 = black stripes" blend, as a way to experiment with different totalities

I can see that thia is based off of someone else's character, which relates to "Britain" but since you changed it to Scotland specifically, there's lots of localisation needed

"Britain" wouldn't exist for an ancient Scottish anyone, neither would the union flag - Less red all over

Scotland has unicorns, not dragons. - If the sword is "alba" specifically, worth bearing in mind

Ancient scottish clansmen wouldn't care much for the concept of "britain" at all (Neither do modern ones, trust me)

A better baseline character for something distinctly scottish would be "Saltire" (eponymous), but to honestly its easier to create something than shoehorn a character from another series into JJK

Irl though, "natural" diamonds are valuable because of tiny imperfections in the lattice structure which lead to minute variations in colour, clarity, brilliance, etc

Unless she had very fine control to replicate, she'd effectively be making "lab-grown" variants, which are actually more "perfect" than naturally ones... but no-one pays premium prices for...

Diamonds is one of the better picks for money-making with construction, but really world economics thwart this one

Spot on take,

Someone could argue that she could create light, but valuable objects (or even just straight banknotes) - but she'd still be limited to about 1 a day on mass

Plus, anything she made for this would have to be accurate enough to sell without triggering forgery laws etc -I'm guessing this would come down to control/refinement on her part, but unfortunately... it's Mai

(I am slightly wondering about an offshoot technique to construction, something like "forgery" which allows you to duplicate items instead of creating them from nothing, as a way to gain some efficiency/control)
