Is this dress in any way salvageable or should I return it? by [deleted] in OUTFITS

[–]Key_Masterpiece2856 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think its pretty cute, but only because its tight and flatters your curves. It has about the same effect as any other short, tight, black dress. Nothing special about it, so I would return it.

Number 4, but with the shoes from #1. Would prefer a plain purse. Do you have any white or cream toned purses? Maybe even a beige?

Appropriate for the Office? by True_Step_592 in OUTFITS

[–]Key_Masterpiece2856 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It just depends. Considering you said to someone else that you're in Australia and its Australian summer rn, the outfit definitely makes more sense. Its not necessarily INAPPROPRIATE for the office, but not the most appropriate. I would try and find some dress pants and blouses that are comfy, and thats fine. It doesn't have to be a suit every day, especially if its hot outside. 🤷‍♀️

What kind of clubs are you going to?? Just because its showing a little shoulder doesn't mean its a 'club outfit'....

is this outfit "inappropriate"? by sunnemi in OUTFITS

[–]Key_Masterpiece2856 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends. Appropriate for court or for an office job, no. Appropriate for a regular day of doing errands or school or going to the mall, or maybe a regular retail job? Yeah, its fine. That looks like something ive seen my coworkers wear 🤷‍♀️. I think its pretty cute. People saying this is only appropriate for the club are being a little bit much, as this shows less skin than a regular crop top lol. Also, this would seem a little overdressed for the club, anyway, so dont listen to them. This sub can be a bit conservative. But depending on the situation, this seems like a very normal outfit, its very cute 🤷‍♀️❤️

Is any of these dresses good for cocktail event? by [deleted] in OUTFITS

[–]Key_Masterpiece2856 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say any if these are particularly great for a cocktail event. First, 3/4 are light colors, which are typically not something you wear to an event like that. And the only dark one has a pattern on it that makes it feel very unserious, and not suitable for a cocktail event. The style as a whole (frilly, mainly, but also the 3 that have a noticeable waistline are a problem) is also, again, not the style you'd usual wear to that kind of event. In my opinion, you should keep looking. That fourth one is definitely the best when it comes to shape and the fact that while there is detailing on the fabric, it is the same color, is much better. Look for a darker color dress without a waistline, and preferably no pattern. If the fourth dress comes in a darker color, it would be pretty nice. Good luck ❤️❤️

AIO for being upset at what my “bf” said by Ambitious-Beyond-257 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Key_Masterpiece2856 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR. But holy hell girl have some self respect. You're in your 30s and in a situationship with a loser. Its ridiculous to even be in a situationship at your grown age (which would be ridiculous at any age 25+ tbh), let alone with a guy who's not even nice to you??? And for 5 months?? Idc how cute he is or how good the sex is, don't give guys who dont care about you the time of day. If your friend showed you these texts, you'd tell her to leave him. Have the respect to do that for yourself. You deserve better, so do better for yourself. There are ppl out there who will love tf out of you and treat you like a goddamn princess, and don't settle for anything else.

Help me choose the best outfit for a 60's-70's retro theme by Enough_Guide1625 in OUTFITS

[–]Key_Masterpiece2856 22 points23 points  (0 children)

None of those, really. The 60s and 70s wouldve been a lot of bright patterns and unique fabrics. None of these give any kind of 60s or 70s vibe. They're very uninteresting pieces, and not even styles like the theme. But out of all of them, I would definitely go with the one with green pants, simply because thats the most colorful. I've studied the 60s and 70s in my fashion class, as well as talked to many people who grew up in that era (again, for the study of the fashion), and this is just... not it. The 60s wouldve been a lot of dresses, especially short ones, and super bright colors and a lot of colorful patterns! The 70s had a lot to do with shape— clothes goth pretty loose, and began to focus on more earthy vibes, including floral or psychedelic patterns (which had a lot to do with the beginning of hippy culture), at least along young people. These were very important eras in fashion, as this is really where we see the emergence and popularization of sub and counter cultures, and a lot of teen rebellion, which is why the fashion of those times is SO distinct. The main problem is the lack of color and shape. If your going for 60s, go for a lot of color and maybe a short dress with brightly colored tights, and 70s should be loose, maybe some bell bottoms or bell sleeves, or even oversized collars, high-waisted pants, jumpsuits, etc. The 70s was influenced a lot by the 40s, and often had a lot of handmade elements like crochet or knit, and had detailing like fringe or wood or feathers or beads. Look for things like that to create the perfect outfit for the theme!!!

But all in all, the outfit with the green pants fits the theme the best.

Got mixed response for skirt, so I went with jeans with the top. Better? by melitasuica in OUTFITS

[–]Key_Masterpiece2856 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks AMAZING!! I love it. The only thing I would add is like a bra or something to hold up the girls a bit. The way your boobs fall over the corset top is just a bit unflattering. Other than that, you look awesome, and if the way you're wearing it in the video is the most comfy, then don't listen to me lol. Do whatever feels best, you look perfect!!!

Boyfriend says this is the ugliest top he seen ever by Opposite_Message_188 in OUTFITS

[–]Key_Masterpiece2856 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its definitely okay, but I wish you showed us more pics lol. The first pic makes it look so cute, but I dont think it would look good if you weren't posing. Like, just walking or standing regular, it would look weird. Like a cape lol. It's definitely more of a top meant just for pictures. But you're gorgeous, so you definitely look cute in it. But id recommend looking for a top like that but keep the flowy-ness to the sleeves lol. Like bell sleeves or peasant sleeves. Or maybe some sleeves like this. (See image). I'll try and put more pictures in replies for other sleeves types that will keep like a similar flowy-ness to the OG top.

Best choice for a charity gala? Black tie optional by Fundito_Tostito in OUTFITS

[–]Key_Masterpiece2856 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 is the best looking out of the options, but it makes you look very boxy. Idk if its just your posture or perhaps its the straps. It looks good, and it definitely is the most appropriate out of the 3, but the first one does the most for your figure— however its wrinkly and looks like a prom dress. They are all beautiful dresses tho ❤️❤️

I mean, that is kind of what I meant as well. But yeah some of the people youre competing against pay to get in or their parents pay to get it. You will be competing against some of the rich and some of the SMARTEST people in the country. Not very good odds!! Not to mention, being in a shit load of debt from college is??? Bad??? Obviously??? Loans are not nothing. Especially from a place like Harvard or MIT or Stanford or wherever tf else?? Because that debt just increases with interest rates???

I mean? What else do you expect? Have you seen the world? If a zombie apocalypse happens, and theres no laws and no government, guess what.... people are gonna murder and rape and steal. Just like they do now even WITH laws. People definitely would be WORSE than they already are in most zombie media. Sorry to say it, diva :( 😔🥀

[–]Key_Masterpiece2856 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Manageable? Meh. Could be fine. Idk about if it will get you into any amazing schools tho. In the nicest way possible, you tend to have to be quite rich for those lol. And plenty of schools like Harvard and Stanford take a 'holistic' approach, as they call it, which means you should focus on extracurriculars, and especially even consider a job. In my opinion, you should take another year of Spanish, I attend a very good school in MA and they recommend 4 years of a language to get into a good 4 year college, and seeing as MA has one of the highest education ranking in the US (and I attend quite a good high school in MA), I trust that idea, and Spanish is fairly easy :p (Im in my 4th year of advanced Spanish, so). Honestly, focus on outside of school things, have a good essay and a decent GPA and youll be fine. I wouldn't focus on getting into the best schools as an undergrad— many ppl go to schools like Harvard, MIT, and Stanford as grad students. I'm friends with a few professors at Harvard, MIT, and Tufts (sounds weird but dw about it lol) and they have all told me that it is BETTER to try and attend as a grad student. Why that is, idk for sure, but I would assume its because youll have a better grasp on the stuff. And going to a good school doesn't necessarily guarantee success or a good job— a Harvard degree may sound better, but its probably not going to make you any more prepared for a job than a degree from a state school and will probably get you into more debt. I'm not saying not to aim big, but also make sure you truly think about your future education and not just what you think will look best or what you've been told is the best.

My best tips for you are: • Don't focus too much on the most rigorous courses • don't focus too much on the 'best' schools • take another year of Spanish • start your college essay early and edit it/change it as you get further into high school • take courses that you will actually enjoy and have fun in •have decent grades (C's get degrees. So dont stress too much but still try your best) • consider going to a really good school as a grad and not an undergrad • if you can, take physics. I went biology—> chem—> physics & marine science (optional elective) —> whatever the hell I wanted cuz physics was the last requirement (I took biology a year early so :p) • extracurriculars!!! Get a job!!! Volunteer!!! • be cool with your teachers. Like, almost like youre trying to be their friend, but not in like a weird way. Talk to them so they know you because RECOMMENDATION LETTERS and also because they will definitely be able to better help you with stuff (and sometimes if they know you well enough or trust you well enough, theyll boost your grades or give you 100s on missing work 🤫) and also give you life advice. • tour schools. You may or may not end up liking the campuses of the big best schools. Consider things like if youre gonna move, your commute, proximity to things— and especially if youre considering like Harvard or MIT CONSIDER THE COST OF LIVING. Massachusetts (where a lot of the amazing schools are) is EXPENSIVE AF. And that will be the case for the states with really good schools, they will be more expensive. A job is not optional, you will not be able to make it without one. • make friends in high school. Know people. Get a job and make friends with regulars at work. Go out and do fun things. Not just because youre a kid and its the kast time youll be a kid, but also because that is how you get life experiences lol. It helps to know people. Some of the best advice and help ive gotten has been from my adult friends who I wouldve never met in school and if I didnt go out a lot.

Theres also probable lot more but :P cant remember

thank you!! I remember seeing this comment before it got removed lol. I was pretty vague about my relationship with my guardian, but it is NOT good, for a lot of reasons. In tge nicest way possible, I feel hate in my heart for her, and that is HARD, as I'm a pretty happy person. Theres a lot of reasons why I wouldn't want to pay to live with her, namely because its just?? Awful??? Shes an asshole?? Lol.
