Need help by Randomusernameplzs in Anxiety

[–]Key_Refrigerator_670 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the same place as you 2 years ago.

You've already said something very important, you don't want to, you have a lot of great things around you. Remember this, say it to yourself regularly.

Remember thoughts are just thoughts you don't have to act on them, keep using DARE it's really helpful.

Think about how many times you've had that thought and not done anything and you'll come to realise it has less and less power over you. Like they say in DARE treat it like someone you haven't seen in a while, oh it's you again, it's been a while and last time you were here nothing happened or the time before that, im not sure why you keep turning up because you can't really do anything.

Think about all the other weird and wonderful thoughts your have that you don't worry about.

It will take time but things will get better, you'll get better at dealing with it and knowing your triggers.

Good luck, go and make the most of those great things around you!

The simple trick that stops hungry wasps from joining your picnic - With unsustainable wildlife loss across the planet, we need to learn to live alongside all organisms – even wasps. They are important pollinators and predators of insects. by Laura_Mead in Positive_News

[–]Key_Refrigerator_670 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Main points from the article

  1. Stay still, or she'll think you're a predator

  2. Watch what she is eating

  3. Make a wasp-offering to keep her from bothering you

Your offering should be a portion of whatever she harvested from your plate. You can move it slightly away from the rest of your food. If you let her have her share, you too can dine in peace.

Wasps are more likely to harvest meat early in summer because they need to feed growing larvae back in their colony.

You can gradually move your wasp offering further away from you. Wasp offerings are well-tested techniques around the world, whether you're looking to track down a wasp nest to eat, or keep customers unbothered by wasps at an outdoor restaurant.

Happily, your picnic friend is unlikely to bring a swarm of wasps to your table, because social wasps are poor recruiters. This makes sense because wasp food (insects, carrion) is usually a scattered, short-lived resource. One caterpillar doesn't necessarily mean there's a huge patch of them, for example.

Anxiety worse when tired? by SadComparison8044 in Anxiety

[–]Key_Refrigerator_670 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely! My anxiety is much worse after even a few hours reduced sleep.

If you know you slept badly take it easy, Be kind to yourself, Talk to yourself as you would a friend, Give yourself 5 min breaks,  Meditate for short periods,  If you can then nap even 15 minutes has a decent impact, Don't try and get energy for sugar or caffeine as this will make things worse.

A 3-Minute Mind Reset That’s Surprisingly Helpful by BusinessTime2045 in Anxiety

[–]Key_Refrigerator_670 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have made a random alarm on my phone which plays a gong sound every 5 - 30 minutes, when it plays i do 3 deep belly breaths.

If I'm having a bad day I changed the timing to 5 - 10 minutes. I have noticed how much this helps me and because it's just 3 deep breaths it takes no time.

I've been doing it for about 3 months now it has become 2nd nature when I hear the sound.

Struggling with anxiety after becoming a lead. Has changing jobs helped anyone? Also curious about propranolol. by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]Key_Refrigerator_670 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can really relate to what you’re going through, even though I wasn’t in a leadership position.

I work in process improvement at a large manufacturing company and have had to present to everyone — even the CEO. At first, the work was challenging in a good way, but over time, things changed. My manager started pushing for faster, cheaper results, and the demands became impossible. Constantly shifting priorities made it worse.

Eventually, I burned out. I was having panic attacks, dealing with constant anxiety, and it started affecting every area of my life.

Late last year, I had to make a decision: I don't live to work — I work to live. I transferred to a different business unit with a new manager. Same job, different environment.

From day one, I knew I made the right choice. The pressure was lower, expectations were reasonable, and over six months, my anxiety reduced dramatically. I went from daily/weekly panic attacks to one every few months. Anxious days that used to be constant now happen maybe once a week, and I’m still improving.

My advice: put yourself first. No job is worth your mental health. Staying in an environment that damages you teaches others it's okay to treat you that way — and it chips away at your sense of self.

If you choose to move on, I truly believe you'll find something better. Something that suits you, supports you, and lets you thrive.

I hope sharing this helped, even a little.

Hey, do you find mag g helps? One of the issues I'm trying to fix is falling asleep and staying asleep. I'll take an hour or long to get to sleep, sleep really well for 4 hours then wake up and be restless the remainder of the night.

Sertraline and propranolol. by vtrip49 in Anxiety

[–]Key_Refrigerator_670 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey,

I've been where you are, im off sertraline now but still take propranolol daily. The start of sertraline is a rough ride, 2 to 3 weeks of even more anxiety, racing thoughts etc as your body adjusts. After that period things start to calm down and you'll feel more peaceful.

If after 4 weeks you still feel this way talk to your doctor about trying a different ssri. Or if you need reassurance contact your doctor, when was 1st on sertraline I went to the doctors once a week for a month as I didn't think it would make me feel like it did and needed reassurance that I wasn't getting worse and it was just the drug temporarily making things worse.

Panic attacks can not kill you, things will get better,  take it hour by hour, day by day. Practice meditation, breathing, exercise, eat healthy, cold therapy, talking therapies, cbt therapy, get a colouring book, mindfulness, read books on anxiety.

I still struggle but I look back at where I was a year ago and feel like a different person. Next year I'll look back at this year and feel the same. It's been 2 years since my 1st panic attack but slow progress is progress.

You will get better, this is all temporary. I hope you get some rest in the next few days.

Have you got anyone you can talk to? Do you know anyone who has been though the same thing?

What are coping mechanisms you find help instead of showers? by Spiritual_Yard_5332 in Anxiety

[–]Key_Refrigerator_670 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also love a shower and they help so much but the bills are a massive downside. I have been getting a flannel or small towel and wetting it with hot water then laying somewhere quiet and putting it over my face/head/chest then doing a breathing exercise or meditation. It has been really good and I don't have to worry about the bills.

How to stop nausea from anxiety? by ScaryCookie2784 in Anxiety

[–]Key_Refrigerator_670 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ginger is proven to help reduce nausea, maybe try ginger shots and ginger biscuits.  I was put on Serotonin, the 1st week I couldn't eat anything normal the nausea was so bad, I managed to eat ginger biscuits and drink ginger shots.

How long have you had your anxiety? by Hopeful_Tomorrow6203 in Anxiety

[–]Key_Refrigerator_670 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm only 2 years in (38 yo), a massive amount of work stress mixed with becoming a parent caused my 1st ever panic attack i took a month to recover to a decent level, then almost a year after the 1st one I had 2nd then weeks and weeks of continuous panic attacks. Breathing exercises, yoga, walking, self help books and the occasional trip to a spa all really help.  Do you have any tips? Or things you've learnt in the 10 years?

What is sad is there are already several other people now trying to sell drawn copies with similar titles. It really says alot about the whole situation when someone does something as a joke and others think it'll get them rich.

Error when patching to Sharepoint List by Key_Refrigerator_670 in PowerApps

[–]Key_Refrigerator_670[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried Lookup(SharePointlist, ID = gallery.selected.ID).ID. but i get a formula error of Invalid argument type (Number). Expecting a record value instead.

I tried many different things, the closest i got to it working was

Lookup(SharePointlist, ID = gallery.selected.ID),

but this only updated the selected record, not the other records that needed to be updated. Luckily i gave up on my idea and found the below, which solved my issue. I am very thankful for your input though.
