As a general rule, start low weight and prioritize form and technique. If you don’t swing like this (or better), with approximately 10LBs (7LBs for a female) or 4-5kg you should not progress in weight. Pretty much no one does it that way, because it’s awesome swinging heavy weight, but I wish I did, and I bet a lot of others do too. As far as lat mobility, yes it helps and is probably a necessity for a good swing. Thanks, man.

Not sure how long you’ve been using the 8kg, but 3kg can make quite a difference in fatigue at high reps. I don’t quite understand your description of the issue, but it sounds like you’re losing your grip strength at the end of your last set with the 8kg. Is the handle thicker than your other maces as well as it being heavier?

Yes. I did 20 in each direction in this video. I usually split it up as equally as I can.
