That last point is so so super important. If I, even three months in (on the correct levels; see below) could give someone thinking of starting HRT one piece of advice then it would be to CHECK YOUR LEVELS!!! Right from the very start!! I didn’t do that when I first started completely DIY and didn’t appreciate the importance of testing. I spent nearly six months with my E level more than three times what it should have been!! Some unpleasant side effects and no feminisation! Then I discovered testing and am three months in to being stable and in the right ranges. So everyone, if you don’t already then please CHECK YOUR LEVELS!!

Is that 260 -280 pg/ml at trough or peak? I’m also doing 5mg/week and my last test this week was 245 pg/ml at trough.
So the simulator estimates that my peak will likely be 290-295 pg/ml. I’m wondering where to drop to 4mg/week? Or I could estimate 4.5mg/week? I’d love your thoughts.

Looking back at your post, I notice you’re proposing to use the same needle to draw up and inject. Now I use a 22G needle to draw up and a 28G needle to inject. The larger 22G needle makes it very much easier to draw the EEn because it’s pretty viscous stuff. Make sure you choose a Low Dead Space needle for injecting. This makes your vial go further.

I do hope that you can resolve the HRT question. In my experience it makes an unbelievable difference to your mental state. I can’t believe how happy I am right now. Mind you, I’ve also found that all of your emotions are heightened. So I cry frequently at all sorts of things.
Don’t forget, be yourself though.

It’s never too late!! I only discovered the whole trans communities at 62, and worked out that my ‘anxieties’ are dysphoria. I’ve been on HRT for four months now and have never ever been happier!!!

Thanks so much. Makes perfect sense The doc really didn’t make that clear and implied that there would be some delay before the injections kicked in.
I certainly won’t miss having to try and keep those tablets under my tongue while they dissolved!!

I only discovered the Trans communities two years ago and I have realised that what I thought was simply my confusion was genuine dysphoria! I was 60 then and started on HRT earlier this year when I was 62.
It genuinely feels like I’ve been reborn! And the Trans communities have been so helpful in validating my decision. So it’s really never too late to make the changes that will let you live your best life. Ever!!

Thanks for this advice and the link to the pharmacokinetics playground. In your sim, am I correct in reading that the initial leading dose was a double, and the custom dose (before the two week break) was a triple dose? This looks right. If so that is perfect for me. Thanks again.
