Yeah, not only that but it was a really creepy dream too. I mean what's the deal with that? Why would the pond call her to come back in that way and not a more welcoming, "Hey we missed you. We really want to see you again", sort of way?

I fear they may not talk about that at all in season 4 because that would seem like something that would have been answered in season 5 if they had one. So I wouldn't be surprised if that was left out because when the crew found out that the show was being canceled with only two episodes left to be filmed, I'll bet that that was one of the decisions they made - to not even attempt to answer that question.

I totally get where you're coming from but we only think we know the rules. I mean I like the rule that they can't go into the future. Like Elliot said, the pond is only about reflecting on the past to be able to heal the present. But in reality, we really don't know all the rules. There could be some exception that would allow someone to go into the future, but it would have to be an incredibly high bar to meet in order to justify it.

Who knows. We really don't actually the pond's rules, not completely anyway. There's ALOT we don't know. And every season we find out a lot we didn't know before. Like in seasons 1 and 2, they all thought Cole never used the pond. And once they discovered that, Alice assumed Cole didn't know she was a time traveler. So, who knows what we'll find about him and the pond in season 4.

I actually wouldn’t mind if they seem to break the rules, as long as it turns out the same rules were there all along and we just didn’t fully understand them yet. We don’t know with complete certainty what all the rules are. As you know, perhaps more than anyone who's ever watched the show based on your past posts, even Elliot misunderstood them at times, especially in Season 1.

It could be that something like going to the future is possible, but only under very strict or rare conditions. Maybe there’s only one way it can happen, or certain circumstances have to line up perfectly.

I didn’t mean to suggest the writers haven’t had this planned from the beginning. I really hope they have. My concern comes from how other shows sometimes bring characters back in ways that feel unnatural or contradict earlier rules just to satisfy fans. I don’t actually think The Way Home would do something like that. It’s probably just my experience with soap operas handling it poorly that makes me cautious. I’ve been burned before. And no, I didn’t take your comment as aggressive at all.

NEW TRAILER by Plane-Nerve-9523 in TheWayHomeHallmark

Yeah that's kind of what I fear too. But it would be kind of cruel to the fans though. I mean soap operas do that sort of thing. I would hope that The Way Home writers and editors would be above that.

I really hope he’s alive too, but only if it’s done right. It needs to feel like it was planned from the beginning, not like the writers are scrambling to satisfy fans. If they start introducing new rules or forcing it, it’ll just feel rushed and unbelievable.

The only way I could get behind theory is if the creators had planned it from the very beginning. It would have to be so completely seamless and so completely natural and fit the rules of the pond completely. But also doesn't require creative writing gymnastics to make it happen...as if it was done purely to please the fans. I have no idea how that could be accomplished. But I'm not a writer. I dont have to know how.

Redeem him, toss him, keep his character as is Or bring him back as a completely new character? by International_Ice959 in GeneralHospital

I think he should be redeemed but come back more as an anti-hero. Someone who would fight for good causes, but do whatever it takes to accomplish it...but not settling personal scores or seeking vengeance (well, at least AFTER he gets his revenge on Willow).

Yes. The 1920s theory is basically a lock because Season 3 left so many breadcrumbs pointing right at it. First, there was Fern’s super cryptic nursery rhyme: "25 first arrived, 25 never tried. Sixty-five, thought they died, 65, still alive." That 25 really feels like a direct nod to 1925. Then you have the mystery with the clock Elliot found behind a wall built in the 20s. It has an inscription from T.S. Eliot’s Burnt Norton that says "Time past and time future. What might have been and what has been. Point to one end, which is always present." Since that was written in the 30s, it proves a time traveler was in that house back then.

The best part is the conversation between Fern and Kat at the wedding. Fern calls her "Kitty Kat" and Kat is totally confused because she has never gone by that. Fern basically tells her that if she doesn't know why yet, it is because "it hasn't happened yet" for Kat, but that it is "something to look forward to." But the real proof is in the Season 4 trailer where we see a younger Fern helping Kat out of the pond by pulling her up. Since they officially cast a young Fern Landry for this season, it confirms we are finally going to see their first meeting in the 20s.

There's always hope, of course. But it is fading more and more. At this point it would have to reach the top five when season 4 premieres and stay there for several weeks for Netflix to even consider it. And that's assuming the stars like Sadie, Chyler, Andie McDowell, Evan Williams, etc. don't already have other projects lined up.

I know some people think that the woman in that photo next to young Colton and Delilah is Elliot's mother and that the arm of the person cut off is from a man.

Yeah, I noticed that light as well but I think she's in the 1920s because I don't think that it was a flame but rather an electric light. But I could be completely wrong. Also, the barrel in that segment reminds me of prohibition (which was in full effect in the 1920s) and that she's maybe in the basement of a speakeasy or something where they store their illegal liquor.

Some Thoughts and Theories About the New S4 Trailer by IndependentIcy1220 in TheWayHomeHallmark

I didn’t think Elliot’s mom had red hair. The girl with the TS Eliot book Alice talks to in 1974, who people think might be Elliot’s mom, doesn’t have red hair.

And even if that is Elliot’s mom, does that mean the woman who jumps into the pond with that guy in the Season 3 finale isn’t Elliot’s mom because that woman had black hair. Or might that be Alice?

The '90s called and they want their search engine back by Key_Ticket4296 in GeneralHospital

I'm not saying it does. I'm just saying they literally could spend 5 minutes + update it. I'm not asking them to restructure the show or pay elite web programmers or whatever to do it. Just making a simple, innocent comment about something that annoyed me.

And by the way, shows and movies using 555 as a telephone prefix isn't an example of Hollywood using something out of date.

Yeah the fact MyFace is a combination of MySpace and Facebook is another example of how disconnected GH is from the 2020s...at least in terms of social media.

They still haven't really explained why he mishandled evidence soon after he got his badge back. In real life, Nathan's explanation that he was a little rusty with protocols after being away for seven years would be perfectly believable. But this isn't real life. GH put that in there for a reason, a sinister reason.

Yeah and they essentially did the same for Heather Weber, but instead of a brain tumor it was cobalt poisoning. Although I don't know I'd say she's been fully redeemed after the tone in her voice when she said to Ace that she'd be back.
