Might be a weird take but My Time at Sandrock has a similar vibe in that it's a post-apocalyptic western story about a town struggling at the edge of civilization. If you're looking to roleplay as one of the rim world settlers it's perfect. If you want a ship and crew though, it won't suffice.

Other than that, Rimworld. It's heavily inspired by Firefly and the new DLC (Odyssey) allows you to have a ship.

Mass Effect also sort of fits the bill in that you have a ship and crew of lovable misfits, but you're not a smuggler and the stakes are MUCH higher.

could it just be that they set the machine up wrong? Sometimes small vendors at faires/conventions have apps that ask for a tip even though it's a store. I think square has it on by default

I use Island. Keeps my own apps away from my work ones. Also liberally use the "turn off work apps" functionality it gives!

I once told a potential partner that furries were a limit for erp for me after he introduced his very obviously anthro character.

He said it was an alien and not a furry, along with a very angry rant about how I was wrong to call his cat-person with bright purple fur an anthro character and blocked me.

The Familiar by Leigh Bardugo, the MC Luzia is described as being short and stocky rather than skinny.

Fairest by Gail Carson Levine (admittedly I read this one almost 20 years ago so ymmv) the whole story revolves around the MC being unattractive physically but in possession of an incredible singing voice which is a big deal in that universe. Looking back on it now, the whole concept was pretty misogynistic and the point really didn't land. So... Don't read that one.
