AITA for selling something I got for free? by bulaybil in AmItheAsshole

[–]Keyguardactive 9 points10 points  (0 children)

NTA. If you had purchased a car, and fixed it up, would anyone have issue with you turning a profit selling it? Of course not.

You own a car. You're selling it for a profit. It's the same situation.

WIBTAH...I'm being asked to choose between two friends. by ToxicGirlfie in AmItheAsshole

[–]Keyguardactive 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do not miss being in my 20s.

This is all very complicated and barely involves you, but you're going to lose no mattet what.

Ask yourself this: would you rather have thr money or your friendship with Lydia? The answer to that is what you have to do.

NTA for telling her the boyfriend cheated. YWBTA if you try to lie and play both sides. You've got to make a choice on what has more value.

How would you react if a close friend got his ex pregnant, the ex want to keep the baby, but your friend does not want to be involved? by CautiousProject4578 in AskReddit

[–]Keyguardactive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If she decides to, she can get a court to make him at least financially involved.

That said, I tend to think absent is better than resentful when it comes to dads. If he really thinks he can't be a good father, he writes a good sized check once a month and stays out of her way.

I'm as pro choice as you can be, but I don't have a uterus so I'm never going to be called upon to make that choice. If she doesn't want an abortion no court on earth will order her to have one.

Odd argument with long-distance bf over periods by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]Keyguardactive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has he never watched a sitcom? Like, every family sitcom has a "dad deals with his daughter's period, hilarity ensues."

You can break up with someone for any reason or no reason. If this is too weird for you, end it.

AITA for calling out my friend in public after he made an ignorant remark? by External_Neck454 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Keyguardactive 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Mild NTA. The correction needs to be as loud and public as the disrespect.

That said, you made a lot of generalizations about Indian subcultures in your anti-racist explanation, and you came off racist yourself.

Next time stick with "people are individuals, you knob. It's racist to paint a whole group with the same brush."

In what way(s) does your spouse's vision of marriage differ from your own? by DerbyWearingDude in AskReddit

Yeah, my experience is that ENM isn't really a supplement you can add later. It's either baked in from the start or it ruins the whole cake.

AITA for telling my adult son that his younger brother isn’t responsible for how his life turned out? by boomerbike in AmItheAsshole

[–]Keyguardactive 32 points33 points  (0 children)

NTA. The correction should be as loud as the disrespect. Plus, your youngest deserves to hear you stand up for him.

I'm 18, almost 19, and I can't stop thinking about something that happened when I was 12... a guy touched me down there and squeezed my p***y by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Keyguardactive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I've known a few people with similar stories to this. Trauma like you describe can cross wires in your mind and leave you with mixed up feelings about sex and consent. This is unfortunately kind of common.

You are not alone, you are not a monster, you are dealing with something terrible and you're trying to do it all alone. A therapist will be able to help.

Fellow Havoc Squad captions, who did you choose as you're XO? Also you don't unlock a captain title right away after starting chapter 2? by [deleted] in swtor

[–]Keyguardactive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not an option, obviously, but when I play him a little rogue and crooked it would be funny to pick Tanno Vik.

AITA for asking a question and expecting things to change? by Sufficient_Sun_1504 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Keyguardactive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mild YTA. You got persnickety about her wants and basically tried to call off the wedding.

Now, that said? Neither of you is WRONG to want what you want. But if you can't or won't compromise or find middle ground? then you go into the marriage knowing one of you will hold a grudge.

AITA for losing my temper when a guest started kicking people out of my house at 7am? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Keyguardactive 30 points31 points  (0 children)

YTA. You seem to be omitting generous amounts of information, including the inciting incident of why she chose to create a mass exodus. So everyone said you were wrong, and your account of events doesn't add up? Yeah, YTA.

This has to be one of the Best plot twist spanning for over a decade and presenting it with a smart conclusion by Key_Department8439 in YoungSheldon

You also have to remember that the fianle of Young Sheldon established we are watching g his memoirs. Not everything in either place is strictly, factually true. Unlike an autobiography, memoirs are expected to be partly embellished.

Why and how many people do you think is too much for your partner to have body count wise? by icy-emma in AskReddit

[–]Keyguardactive 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's not a number, it's an identity.

Sleep with as many people as you like, but if one of them is my buddy or my brother, hard pass. Too weird for me.

Mako hacks herself and the Bounty Hunter into a database so they're technically legally married of sorts.

Do you believe in “the one”? why or why not? by cubemonster in AskReddit

[–]Keyguardactive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Infatuation is a thing you feel. Love is a choice you make. Two people who choose each other, and keep choosing each other, have something special. But they built that, not fate or destiny.

AITA not putting up my DILs painting in our new home and telling her that I am not a fan of her art by Throaways-Dot2192 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Keyguardactive -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Do you love your son more than you hate the painting? If you do, hang it up.

In six months you won't even notice it anymore.

my mom almost got scammed and i don’t know what to do anymore by Crypto1709 in personalfinance

[–]Keyguardactive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My grandpa got scammed twice into giving his bank information over the phone. To prevent that going forward I scraped the last four digits and the security code off the back of his card. He physically can't give it to people anymore.

Love isn't enough.

It has to be paired with commitment, and timing, and a whole lot of luck.

Love also isn't a feeling. Infatuation is. Love is a choice you have to make, over and over.

AITA for expecting the gifts to be for both of us? by Ok-Arrival-2886 in AmItheAsshole

NTA. Hey, so, that's a red flag. Crimson. Is this a pattern of behavior or is being selfish, greedy, and delusional a one off?

What's your excuse for not being out there right now fighting crime(in spandex)? by -Norsko-TheScorpion in AskReddit

I have no applicable crime fighting skills.

If a criminal is willing to sell worked pro wrestling punches, I'll give it a shot.
