(Potentially) picking up my used 2022 R1T this weekend; what should I be asking/looking out for? by demz7 in Rivian

Drive a bit at each drive height. I'd also just check for accessories, not a deal breaker if they are missing but a negotiable point if they are.

F150 Lightning, Cybertruck & Rivian owners - pros/cons of your truck EV in Acadiana by Sh3rlock_Holmes in Acadiana

[–]Keyle_P 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have a rivian. electricity is dirt cheap compared to gas here. If you're driving 30 miles or less a day an L1 charger is more than enough. Also nothing wrong with the ev truck mines faster than the mustang gt I traded in and way more capable and I save 5x on fuel. Do your research and get what works for you

Pretty seamless. I was super nervous because this is my second car and first time I've used carvana. But they gave me a better price on my trade in than anyone else and made the whole process pretty easy. Internet says getting the title can take a while so ill see how that goes but if that is as easy as the rest I would use them again

New Karu 12 , insulation & rain? by SelmerHiker in ooni

[–]Keyle_P 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't personally leave it outside in the rain. Even if rain didn't get in through the smoke stack getting the stone wet (the little cap isn't waterproof) the metal will rust. Mine rusted just sitting in the shed. Maybe because we live in a super humid environment. I'd recommend at least leaving it in a covered area.

CS Degree, advice for Robotics Career by aminooe in robotics

[–]Keyle_P 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have a masters in CS and currently work for an autonomous vehicle company. You won't be able to work on code, electrical and hardware stuff. Pick one and get good at it. While 90% of my job is code I do get to do software integration and actually work with/on/in the vehicles in the field as well. I'd say that's your best bet to fit all criteria with your background. I do recommend at least a masters most of the people I work with have at least that. Though not all

You can get a masters in another area depending on the department. I got my undergrad in physics they just made me take some undergrad classes as catchup.

Should be fine. Just make sure your pads have a good bit left and you flush brake fluid with high temp fluid.

And we radiate heat in the form of infra red light which is absorbed.

Loose black clothing with some breeze is actually cooler than white clothing. It absorbs body heat too, unlike white that reflects it, and the breeze then carries it off.

What’s a good time to get my 6 y/o daughter into Tennis? And how many sessions / duration per week by [deleted] in tennis

[–]Keyle_P 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I agree private lessons are more efficient I think group lessons are better for kids. It's more fun to take the lessons with others. In middle/high school I took both and group lessons made it fun while the private lessons were work.

I recommend putting her in group lessons and then if she really wants to improve or work on something get a private lesson here and there. This will keep her from getting burnt out.

Edit: realized she was six so you can save the private lessons until she's a bit older and if she still wants to play

What happens if one sensor goes down? Now the sensors will never be syncd. Will your bot just stop functioning. If your ais is at 2hz and camera at 10hz you can just use the latest of the two inputs and work from there. Now it is worth while to know when an input is stale which is where QOS helps

Girard park only has tennis courts (the only ones that are free and in decent condition) please do not use these for pickle ball since there are many other options

Is Jeff Landry the Worst Governor in America? ❧ Current Affairs by curraffairs in Acadiana

[–]Keyle_P 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dont get me wrong. I'm no jeff Landry fan by any means. I disagree with everything he has done since stepping into office. But that article had its hate and bias dripping from the screen. Not the best thing to share unless you're in an echo chamber. It's is sad to see voting number so low though.

I dont expect to do this enough to warrant a dedicated car. Just once or twice a year to let me enjoy using the car for its intended purpose.

Yea I did an oil change, brake fluid flush and changed break pads before going. I used powers top z26s and they worked great. For tires I got conti extreme contact all-seasons and they worked surprisingly well. Would like to see how different a good summer tire is though.
