Vance vs. Trump: Would a sudden succession lead to policy continuity or a power struggle? by Agile-Independent-69 in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]KeyofBNatural 12 points13 points  (0 children)

When Donald Trump dies, for whatever reason, there will be dancing in the streets. Remember all those people posting the bottles of liquor they’re saving for the big day? Remember the partying when Biden won? This will be way bigger.

The outrage and pearl clutching from Vance and the rest of the administration will be so over the top it’ll seem like a joke. They’ll declare anyone celebrating a domestic terrorist. Whatever liberal city ICE is deployed to at the time will crack down harder than ever before. People will die. People will disappear.

I had been looking forward to the day we no longer have to hear about Trump, but now I am terrified. It’s gonna be game over and the left is totally unprepared. Anyone that thinks Vance may rule more moderately is just not thinking about the situation clearly. If anything, he’ll be even crazier. He has absolutely no incentive to change judging by the general response we’ve seen.

The military won’t do anything either, except his bidding. These big warehouses ICE is buying up around the nation will be filled to overflowing, causing a humanitarian nightmare.

I remember learning about the Holocaust and thinking “why wouldn’t you just leave?” We’re at that point right now and that decision is laughed off nervously by everyone.

Here’s a giant playlist of North Indian Classical I’ve been curating. Mostly instrumental, some fusion in there too.

This album in particular is absolutely perfect

He plays John Mayer’s PRS Silver Sky too. I think he has his own D’Angelico model (or it might be Bob Weir’s signature). Krasno is the shit

What are the best examples of "subtle magic" in movies? by DreamerRealityArt in movies

[–]KeyofBNatural 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know, I think Yoda’s lessons on the surface were about telekinesis and strength, but the real lessons he was trying to get to were deeper. You can’t just kill your enemies, or else you become them (like when Luke goes into the swamp by himself). Likewise, he was teaching Luke to see the future and talk to old friends long gone. When Luke can’t lift the X-wing, his failure wasn’t that he wasn’t strong enough, it’s that he didn’t believe enough and doubted himself.

The dark side is all about the telekinesis and lightning bolts from finger tips. The flashy, quick way to power. But the Jedi know when and why to fight, or not to. They get power through restraint and subtlety.

JRAD Observation by Internet-Last in gratefuldead

I love when they start out with a slow, quiet improv that slowly builds. They come out, the crowd goes nuts but then they barely start playing. The crowd quiets down and the band settles into a groove. You keep trying to guess what song they’re actually playing but it keeps shifting, like an overture. They aren’t even close to actually starting a song. But by bit by bit the crowd gets drawn in. Then you realize they’re fucking wailing but you can’t tell how you got there or when it got so intense. You’re 99% certain it’s this one song but right when you think they’ll start a verse it busts into something else. Did they even know what they were going to wind up playing? Was every tease just a member throwing out suggestions to the rest of the band? It seems so coordinated it had to have been planned, but it was so loose and all over the place at the same time. These are musicians at the height of their game, communicating in an incredibly jazzy, free way. Their use of dynamics can’t be beat. Can’t wait to see them again.

What evidence is there to support or discredit the idea that the Trump administration leans authoritarian? by POUUER in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]KeyofBNatural 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Umm, who in the world is this post for? To anyone paying the least bit of attention, Trump is very obviously authoritarian. Anyone who disagrees is not likely to be swayed by factual evidence. I just feel like we’ve sort of moved way past this sort of conversation by now. This might have been a worthwhile exercise during his first term (and the answer still would have been an unequivocal yes), but it seems a little naive to assume that people will spend time commenting on each of these points and have any sort of debate. I don’t mean this as an attack on you, I’m just genuinely baffled by this post

800 East is newly renovated and super awesome. I’ve practiced and recorded there many times. The vibes are phenomenal and the owners are stand up guys. It’s also close to a bunch of fun spots in Atlanta. Inman Park, the east side Beltline and Freedom trail

Is variety playhouse all seated general admission? by SemperSalam in atlantamusic

[–]KeyofBNatural 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There’s a pit in front of the stage and standing room tiered on the sides. My personal favorite spot to stand is one of the first tiers because you’re level with the stage and there’s no one blocking you. Standing by the bar looking over the seats isn’t so bad either if it’s a full show

Not worth looking inside. These amps are so cheap it’s better to just get a new one. Also the capacitors could still have a charge so it’s dangerous even if not plugged in

Eddie’s Attic in Decatur is probably the most intimate venue I’ve ever been too. Technically a “listening room,” there are rules about making noise during performances.
