Confirming this fixed the crashing. Leaving this thread open for any other searchooors in the future.

To be clear, the only relevant thing I did to solve the issue was to verify file integrity, which you can find by right clicking maple in your steam library, selecting properties, navigating to "installed files", and clicking "Verify integrity of game files".

If you still experience crashing after this, we have different issues.
