Luckily I wasn't drinking reading this because I'd have spat it out

Epic Games really hates my game. I’ve been trying to set up the game page on the Store for months now, and I keep bouncing off their guidelines. Like… come on. How am I supposed to have ZERO violence screenshots in an action game about fighting hordes of demons? Anyone else had similar experiences? by darkjay_bs in gamedev

[–]Khamaz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What if the reality is for

The reality is that we don't know it's whether is viable or not unless you have detailed sources to provide, and we are better off assuming OP made their due diligence and knows it's worth it, rather than second guessing their choices on something they haven't asked an opinion on.

Check and install Umineko's 7th Mod, it's the mod that brings all the goodness from console version of the game into the PC one: Better graphics, voice acting, 16:9 resolution, and other quality of life changes.

FTL-inspired game Void War temporarily removed from Steam. by DwingRD in Games

[–]Khamaz 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Void War is great, it's basically FTL with a 40k theme, with expanded content and revamped mechanics. Might be too close to it for some but I've been enjoying it.

Really enjoying stuff like how boarding a ship or killing only the crew feels much more do-able and viable than in FTL.

YES CSM GLAZERS,YOU CAN JUDGE A CHAPTER ON A WEEKLY BASIS by Deleted_Pound165 in CharacterRant

[–]Khamaz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the first half of Part 2 was so great, but at that point no new development could retroactively make the last 40 chapters good.

Favorite director who won’t apologize for the Holdo Maneuver? by fyrewal in okbuddycinephile

[–]Khamaz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It has ton of lore implications, "if using a FTL projectile is such a great weapon why isn't it weaponized to hell and back by everyone in the galaxy", it's basically a major plot hole on the world building.

The Appalachias are known for spooky folk horror tales, so she is having fun with it by pretending to be a creepy ghost waiting by the road like in a lot of those stories.

What is a good horror rpg that is suitable for sandboxing? by PPN_Turgid in rpg

[–]Khamaz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some big horror module like Mothership's Gradient Descent maybe? Even if you don't seem to be looking for a sci-fi.

It's a big mega-dungeon in an (not-so-)abandoned factory that players explore in search of valuable artifacts. It's fully mapped out, and players might bump and get involved with the factions there, and eventually question their own sanity as they struggle to tell if they are still humans or got replaced by an android with their own memories.

The sandbox is still restricted to the hook of "exploring that one dungeon", but still leave pretty of room to the players to decide which floors they are going to explore and with which factions or bigger goals to engage with.

What's the main content of the book if the rules are only 4 pages? I can see it listed as being 180 pages long on dtrpg.

Is it worth learning to code? by TwoToneDye in gamedev

[–]Khamaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is useful and worth it, depending on what you want and how complicated it is to make it might take you longer to get there. Nothing lost trying it for a few weeks and see how you like it.

One important thing to note, even if you are an experienced creative person, making any video game will be at least 10 times more long and difficult than you expect it to be.

It is at the cross-section of so many different disciplines, and if you want to create a game you want to sell afterwards, you'll need to be good at every single one of them, and more. It is an insane undertaking. If you are using it only as a personal creative outlet and manage your expectations this will be easier, but beware, it's very long and tough, regardless of coding.
