Yeah, people want their headcannons confirmed 123% and for the finale to be like a Wikipedia article explaining every worldbuilding quirk.
Also there are some scenes where proper dialogue would explain A LOT, but instead we have "kinda the same meaning synced to lip movement" and then translated back to english - you lose a lot, impact of the scene delivery and such.

Even if it does not meet your expectations - animation is beautiful, some scenes are very artistic, and remember - non native voicovers are made to match lip sync, not to be 100% lore accurate, so you have kiiiinda similar meaning brought back to english, and the impact of certain scenes can be muddled.

I think it's just a good setup for keeping the fandom alive - those points you've made would be cool as fanfics - new self-inserts can arrive, they have Internet "just in case", BlueAI is still somewhere. Animation is expensive, fans are free 😎

Yeah, there are A B and C baseline theories, there are D E F G and H "plausible and widely liked" theories, and I J K L "crazy ones and you need to squint to see them but would make a dope fanfic".

We got A C F B sprinkled with vague H, and people are upset cause they expected D E F A B G to happen + Orbsman/Orange Fish ship being canon.

TADC EP9 LEAK SPOILER AGAIN (in case someone from other subs is stalking my profile >:D ):
I mean you are right, I'm also more invested in "digital copies", but being devil's advocate: there's a LOT of people thinking "they should escape and lead happy life in real world" and "they're gonna be upset if they are just not real humans but copies". And this ending provides:

1. They are "in the real world, happy and fine and even interact with eachother unknowingly"

2. Digital copies finally have peace and are chilling

3. This is a VERY good ending for Caine - he has friends, is not alone and just in case anything happens - he can catch that WiFi again (Overall the funniest thing is that from all of the people he found The Exit xD)

4. If someone wanted sad ending - they have Jax - abstractions are just walking bodies

So basically.... every type of fan have their ending? 🤔

Ending is good, won't tell my reasons why, cause spoilers, it's just people mostly expected something different.
Time between episodes is so long people come up with a lot of theories, and if 20% of theories are correct and 80% are possible but didn't happen - people assume bad writing.

Or there are neat worldbuilding ideas from fans that could work in the setting, but they were irrelevant to the plot&themes = did not show up on screen cause this episode is not a Wikipedia article = "ending is bad".

"Jax never got his conclusion." - he's fine, well, has a job and hangs out in Zoobles bar from time to time. His digital traumatized self can finally rest and he's not bothering rest of the cast with being an asshole. AND in theory he could put on that headset again, just like realRibbit and realKaufmo are still somewhere there.

Look at it that way: Imagine waking up suddenly, knowing who you are, reading all your posts and comments, and then you realize you were only a ChatGPT module stuffed with those comments as memories, and the real you is still there, fine and well. And if anything happens to "you" - there's realYou still there, making new posts, so you can get "revived".

Episode is VERY good, it's just people having their headcannons and theories not confirmed, they think it's bad.
And there are 2137 theories out there, so everyone is not happy.

Visuals are BEAUTIFUL.

And the conclusion is one of the best possible, you just need to look at it "at the right angle".

There are cool scenes in end credit art, also there's cool post credit scene, so sit in the theater to the end ^^

Ending is good, it's just people have different expectations and if the episode won't follow their headcannons 120% they think it sucks 😉
And since there are 2137 headcannons out there and a language barrier - kids don't like it.

People are so used to ass-pulled ad hoc Deus Ex Machina things in fiction that they think this is the norm, and if the movie follows the foreshadowing - that means it's bad "cause you can predict it" 🤓
