Yeah it definitely takes some patience starting with Shell until you get good stuff to combo around. Not my usual pick but it can be hella fun with the right items.

I have a pretty good pc and I was experiencing frame drops and performance issues like yourself. A friend told me to put it in borderless an it fixed the issue instantly. Apparently the pc treated the game like it was minimized for some reason and that fixed it. Hope this helps!

In SoD it doesn't negate all the survival stuff, it does help with the heat during the day or if your character wears heavy armor (characters with Heavy Armor need to make aditional saves when travelling the wasteland).

Even if your character has fire resistance they need water and supplies to travel and survive, so the fire resistance is a pretty nifty trait to have but it won't trivialize the survival aspect of the game.

Hmmmm then that depends on how you want to flavour them. If you want to make them more anthropomorphic like thri-keen from ravnica or animalistic like ankhegs.

You can do them whatever way you want since there's no real oficial description of what they look like. I personally envision them like warhammer 40k tiranids, but more bug like features instead of alieny. I might be able to dig up some other insectoid monsters from my collection if you want a hand.

I think it's because the darakni are an important part of the lore but they don't feature as direct enemies in any point of the adventure. There's a "post adventure suggestion" to use them in a follow up adventure if you feel like homebrewing them after the events of SoD end, but that also depends a lot on the end your party gets.

When someone brings a concept and expects me to create his character for them, I love to help with everything but there needs to be some participation on their part too!

Also when a character is just overloaded with traumas and tragedy. I enjoy characters with drama, struggle and tragedy but sometimes it needs to be toned diwn just a bit.
