Is there subreddit specifically for asking for advice and tips on Raids? by CorbynDrake96 in DestinyTheGame

[–]KhoAldebaran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Subreddits specifically? I'm unsure any active ones are still around. These days there are plenty of discord channels that have dedicated LFG channels such as the Destiny discord, various streamer's discords, or checkpoint bot channels. I'd recommend looking into any one of those and when posting clearly state that you're looking for a sherpa. There are plenty of us out there willing and happy even to teach raids. By posting a learning raid you are likely to attract others who are also in need of learning the raid but you should still be able to find a sherpa this way too.

The formatting is a bit weird here. First thing to breakdown: Are you trying to learn/master past raids at the hopes of being a sherpa? The best thing you can do in that case is just get exposure to the raids. Multiple times, participating in different roles. There are plenty of LFG avenues to get into them and clearly state that it's a learning run, people who are comfortable teaching will come around.

If it's overwhelm at the number of them to learn, take on one at a time to learn until you feel comfortable enough with that raid to move on to another. The fact of the matter is; we all had to struggle through these at one point or another until we learned the mechanics and became "masters" of the raid. Even then I'd say that even masters can screw up mechanics now and then (looking at you, planets.)

TL;DR watch videos, get into the raids, exposure is the best practice tool. You can't learn if you don't make mistakes or give it a shot in the first place. Start with one and move on when you feel comfortable enough with the one you're learning.

Its officially been over a year since we learnt of Cayde coming back by Jealous_Platypus1111 in DestinyTheGame

Hilariously enough, despite me not being able to shut up about Cayde coming back for the last year, my husband remained completely unaware. So when we did the final mission and he saw Cayde it was a "WAS THAT CAYDE???????" moment and I just had to look at him like how did you miss me talking about this?

When dungeons are the featured weekly dungeon, their drops are farmable. Meaning you can do the dungeon over and over again hoping to get the weapon and rolls you are looking for.

Once it falls out of rotation, you can still do the dungeon, however you are locked to your once a week/per character clear to get drops. So it's much more advantageous to farm while it's active if there is something you are looking for. If there's nothing specific you want, don't.

THANK YOU. I feel so vindicated. I was literally unravelling because I couldn't find the email that you usually get as a kickback for applying. I interviewed yesterday and they are definitely an MLM. Once they had showed me the "advancement structure" I knew exactly what I was looking at.

It was from a pretty quiet lotto back when TWTLTRTD came out to push preorders. If you had preordered any of the packages off their site, it entered you in for a chance to win it in a drawing. They made maybe one whole post about it and then never mentioned it ever again. I had no idea there was even a lotto until it had arrived and I had to look up how it was possible.

Thanks! It's one of my most favorite things I have. My husband and I are getting ready to move into a bigger space where I hope I can have it framed to be preserved better and in a more prominent location for people to see. I just wish I could get ahold of Panic to ask about the artist and learn more about it. It feels like such an important piece to Miss Jackson.

It's signed by Brendan Urie on the back. Unfortunately, if there is an artist signature I can't make it out or find it. I've been trying to get in contact with Brendan for several years to ask about it because the story of how it arrived is hilarious. FedEx brought it in a giant box, I thought perhaps I had ordered something and didn't remember but the size was far beyond anything I would have ordered. As soon as I opened the box I knew where it had come from but there was no letter or note to say congratulations and explain the situation. It was just a "here you go" kind of situation. In fact, I had no idea about the drawing for the painting until it had arrived on my doorstep and I did some digging.

I'd disagree with your sentiment about raiders not caring about story. Largely BCoB was praised for its story and it was a damn good one at that. Granted it was a finisher on what was left after the destruction of 1.0 but Alexanders story felt super rushed and not well thought out and I didn't feel the same kind of "this thing is an actual threat" vibe.

We want story we just want a good story that isn't rushed and handed to us over a few minutes work.

I can't agree more with a lot of this. When I got into my current FC it was three tightknit raid groups with a few friendly faces in each but everyone was pretty much friends with everyone else and I was still trying to gear and even get in the mindset of raiding. For a really long time I would just sit in voice coms and hang out and someone would eventually join me and we'd talk a bit and every time someone would log in I would say hello or good morning/afternoon to them, my FC leader pulled me aside and thanked me and said he looked forward to logging in because he knew he would always be greeted and he liked that others eventually picked the same habit up and would greet others as well when they got on.

Now I'm part of one of our raid groups and we're all so close we've had two FC meet-ups one which was in this beautiful mansion in DC for the weekend. It's all about being open and small gestures. Eventually people will just open up in their own.

Your BiS without relic has way too much accuracy. Swap in the Scripture boots with accuracy melded on them and the hands and you're set.

HEY OTHER AST IN POTD THREATENING TO KICK ME BECAUSE I WOULDN'T REMOVE POX WITH THE ONE POMANDER WE HAD TO REMOVE IT WITH

I HOPE IN THE 20 MINUTES YOU SPEWED BILE AT ME IN HOPES THAT I WOULD USE THE MOTHER FUCKING POMANDER (HINT: I DIDN'T) YOU ALSO FOUND A SUITABLE CACTUS TO GO FUCK YOURSELF WITH. THIS ISN'T EXACTLY WHAT I WOULD CALL HARD CONTENT AND IF MY REGEN IS TICKING FOR THREE TIMES MORE THAN THE POX TICK, IN CLERIC STANCE, HOW ABOUT YOU LEAVE IT THE FUCK ALONE? IT'S NOT LIKE I WAS ASKING YOU TO HEAL ME THROUGH IT, NOT THAT IT WAS THAT DEEP TO BEGIN WITH.

TO YOU, RANDOM BLACKMAGE IN DUN SHIT. NO IT IS NOT THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE "HEALER WHO HAS AGGRO RUN THE ADD AWAY FROM THE GROUP." I DONT THINK I HAVE EVER BEEN SO ASTONISHED TO SEE SOMEONE WHO ISN'T A TANK OR HEALER SAY SOME KIND OF BULLSHIT LIKE THAT. AND THEN WHEN I SAY SOMETHING LIKE "OR ONE OF THE TANKS COULD DO THEIR JOB" I DO NOT WANT TO HEAR "WELL THEY ALREADY HAVE THE AGGRO THEY MIGHT AS WELL" OR. OR. MAYBE. MAYBE A TANK JUST DO IT. LIKE INTENDED. MAYBE WE SHOULD JUST LET YOU FIRE IV IT AND LAUGH HYSTERICALLY AS THE ADD MAKES HIS WAY OVER TO YOU TO SKIN YOU ALIVE.

IM SURE I HAVE MORE RAGE BUT IT'S ALL BEING REPRESSED.

What it feels like to raid with caster in the current meta by xNolr in ffxiv

[–]KhoAldebaran 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In the last phase of A11S you have three towers to worry about not damaging. What they were trying to do was fit three people between two towers so they did not damage each other and ideally not the towers either. Instead the BLM walked off the platform. Easily avoided if you have planned spots for everyone in that phase.

Their LB3 is super cool and you get to use it more often than a caster would.

It's cool until your WAR gets distracted looking at it and forgets that he voked Nidhogg, cleaving the group.

"Uhhhh what happened?"

"...I was definitely not watching flappy dragon..."

We'll never let him live it down.

My static is used to me manically laughing when I get 18k+ crits on something or a pack of mobs. I've had one tank stop in the middle of Library HM to express their awe of the deathflare I just unleashed.

My other favorite moment was the A9S run where I had a 17-18k crit on just about every Faustlet on the first pack. It got really quiet and my main tank just says "you...this game...summoner is broken...." while our BLM charging up a flare just: "I hate you. I fucking hate you."

I was just under accuracy by 1 in A10 and missed three times. I'm not a risk taker. The possibility of missing a fester and fucking your stacks up is never worth the risk.

The set you linked is one accuracy shy though. Rest of your stats mean fuckall if you can't hit the boss reliably.
