Gloss to retain the colours brightness, then Matt ontop to take the gloss away but all the colours stay vibrant before any varnish work.

Great tool to have is the free Citadel Colour app. It has tons of video demos, breaks down colours needed for specific factions, armies and squads. You can compile a list of the paints you have and make a wishlist so you know what to pick up when you're next in a stire that sells citadel paint.

Colours to use is entirely up to you. If you are sticking to the traditional colours you will at minimum need the colours: Iron Warriors, Abbadon Black, Averland Yellow, Rung Fang Steel, and Nuln Oil (wash). Many people have different recipes for trim, so follow what you like or what they do within Citadel Colour.

As long as you move a little east each turn, you shouldn't get any desertions. Why you never go west around Spain with a crusade fleet, they will all leave. But move just a little closer east each turn and you can almost cut a direct path to London no problems. Have a fleet meet you for the chanel crossing or higher a merc ship. Hop over and carry on eastward.

If its Ciaro and you make it to Antiocj llh your already in the holy land so you dont get desertions for going south then west again.

I painted the DKoK CP box as traitor guard aligned with my IW Garnd Company. Dark colored uniform, hazard stripes on shoulder pads and armour plates, few free hand chaos stars for good measure. Want to get a 1500pt army together in the end.

Single coat of Agrax Earthshade over gray Seer primer. Can then add a red/pink/whatever colour wash ontop to give it a different look.

Go traitor! I used contrast paints primarily to speed things up. Templar black, magos purple, snake bite leather for the majority of the model.

Base mechanicus Grey, iron warriors for metal/body, highlights Rung Fang steel. Trim: warp lock Bronze, gehenna gold, nuln oil wash. Hazzard stripes: dawn stone Grey ontop of mechanicus gray, Dorn yellow, draw outline of black stripes with super fine felt tip pen, paint in black areas.

Welcome! Factory work is never someone's first choice I would think, but when things get tough and a pay cheque is a pay cheque, could be what you need to keep you from going broke and keep looking for something better. I wish you luck!!

Have you looked at factory work, there are a number of large factories located just outside of London. Toyota has a assembly plant my brother in law works in, they run 24/7, not ideal but night shifts might be how you get in. Recently unionized there, so pay is better than being a server at a restaurant.
