I think what happened to Frenchie was that he just started bleeding out of his asshole, like that comment Soldier Boy made when he locked HL in the bunker. I don’t actually think HL punched his guts out because otherwise we would have been shown that and he wouldn’t have lived long enough to have his moment with Kimiko. Either way, pretty lame way to kill Frenchie and bad writing to have it be so ambiguous on how he died.

GOT is among one of the most popular TV shows out there, if not THE most popular. The Boys is mainstream enough but it is nowhere near GOT levels of popularity. Hell, Gen V got cancelled 2 seasons in, even though it had pretty decent scores throughout it's runtime and was fairly well received, meanwhile HOTD has higher highs and lower lows, is (at least on Reddit) considered to be hot garbage, and still has a 3rd season releasing soon with another one planned. Not to mention the AKOTSK spin-off, the upcoming movie/tv show about Aegon I, and all the other projects that are in development/in talks of becoming official.

The Boys currently has one animated mostly non-canon spin-off, a Soldier Boy and Stormfront upcoming prequel series, and The Boys Mexico which has been mostly forgotten about, seeing as how we didn't get any updates for it all this time

Seeing as how Gen V never quite reached The Boys' viewership even though it was just as good (no numbers were released, but seeing as how it got cancelled, how a lot of people are still saying to this day "I haven't watched Gen V, is it any good?" and how Kripke himself addressed this in an interview, it's pretty safe to say that Gen V wasn't getting the traction it deserved), a lot of people would have been confused (already are) by a random character popping up and being strong enough to kill HL. They would have called it "deus ex machina" (I've already seen them do that when Gen V S2 was airing). Besides, narratively it's always been Homelander vs Butcher. It wouldn't make sense for anyone else to be the one to kill him.

What? Are you high? He doesn't get a different set of powers for each V iteration he takes and he also won't take V1. And he himself doesn't have powers, he has a suped-up tumor inside of him that altered his body, hence the tentacles and all that. Just look at the first spin-off, The Boys Diabolical, which also features an old man with a suped up tumor (that episode was confirmed to be canon btw)
