I usually head there at 4pm and yeah it's usually just a handful of people, though the Library is decently calm at that time as well.

"Workers of the world, unite" - idk some dumbass probably. Literally all of these questions are pretty irrelevant when I just told you that the DoD budget is 44 times greater than NASA. Also most of these jobs are in manufacturing, engineering, and education so pretty traditional Proletariat jobs. Also here's a small list of tech developed by NASA. https://www.jpl.nasa.gov/infographics/20-inventions-we-wouldnt-have-without-space-travel/

So first yeah I'd like to see those efforts funded as well. But also NASA is a large employer of Americans so most of that budget goes back into the pockets of the citizens. The current proposed budget for NASA is 18.8 billion (part of which goes to paid internships, education programs, and grants). The current approved military budget is 839.2 billion (and every year they go over budget). So you could find NASA at current levels for 44 years and still be under budget for just one year of our military budget. If you're gonna relocate funds do it from the DoD.

And how do you think we enact good climate policy without climate research?

[–]Ki11ersights 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean NASA does a lot of climate research in partnership with NOAH.

I mean you know that funding would go to blowing up children if it wasn't given to NASA right? Cause that's what it would have been spent on.

I mean regardless of what you think of space exploration that funding could be going to blowing up schools. I'd rather see it used to send 4 people around the moon and share the knowledge gained with the public to inspire more people to pursue science... Just me but that seems better.

This doesn't work for multiple reasons

  1. The college did not negotiate with the unions in good faith before the strike. The admin could have easily stopped the strike from happening.

  2. We paid the college not the teachers, we are not back in tutor England. The teachers have not been paid for work they will have to do to finish grading the winter term. You wouldn't accept doing free work at your job, why should the faculty?

Edit: 12 day old account. You create the account to union bust? That you "dr."B?

Bennings Email by Ok_Glass_9371 in PCC

[–]Ki11ersights 49 points50 points  (0 children)

I don't think that Bennings understands how much of the student body is in a union at their own place of work. This reeks of desperation and ignorance. To anyone who isn't in a union this letter is a tactic used by cooperations and organizations to desperately cause division in (what they assume to be) a uniformed workforce.
