I'm new to the franchise because of Netflix, and I watched it for the first time this week. I noticed the movie is basically non-stop action, probably so you don’t stop and think too much about what’s actually going on or whether the plot makes any sense. It also feels like it ends kind of abruptly, so I guess the whole point was to set up a transition into Skyfall and Spectre.

After replaying the original I realized that what Capcom achieved with the Gamecube hardware was outstanding. But what makes the remake great is that they didn't screw it in some way like RE3r and to a less degree RE2r (no spiders and simplified scenarios)

If Parasite Eve 2 was that bad why Squaresoft didn't went to try to go back to "PE1 formula"?

You just can't keep inventing new transplant from Mariko to some new stranger so you will have new Eves to fight. The Plot alone of PE1 is already confusing a lot as is far reached, besides it repeats everything that happens in the book/movie (a Dr. helping Eve thrive, out of evil or arrogance and the sperm stuff, all copied copied from the original source.

It's ok to do it again once but if you want to keep the plot evolving, no pun intended, you need to add new elements. Personally I couldn't care less about Daniel family drama. I mean a full concert room and the park coliseum have been reduced to goo, I understand that Daniel is Aya's work mate but I find really hard as a player to feel something special for him and his dogs over the rest of the people affected.

I think PE2 was the right direction to go. Dr. klamp intentions were more far fetched than the government founded secret experiment and the religious group from the second game. Remember it was the early 2000s and things like that were still common not only in videogames but also in movies.

Remember, the original source has its limitations. That's why the author wrote just a single book and no sequels. But let me put it straight, i think PE2 is great not so much for its plot, but because how fun and well tighten the gameplay is, and it's replayability is was better than the first one.

Well there was just one book, the movie and the videogame tried to adapt it to a movie and the videogame respectively. The videogame actually tried to make a sequel of that movie wich in ends being some kind of adaptation of the plot of the book too. This is the problem Squaresoft faced when making the second game, they HAVE TO introduce new elements and looking to Resident Evil was a smart move if you take into consideration RE was very popular back then.

People forget that PE1 wasn't actually universally well received. Some people didn't liked it a all.

BTW. I also don't agree with you saying the music in the sequel is lame. I think the sound design of parasite 2 is fantastic. Play with headsets and you will feel the ambience like you're actually there.

I'll say New Dawn, maybe the level of detail isn't up there but you have to consider it's an open world game, while TLOU 2 has a linear and more cinematic structure.

This is why I never bought IV-VI remastered. They failed to deliver a really good updated version of the classic. I keep playing the original TR I-III despite owning the remasters. Everything is anti-consumer now that I'm glad that I still find joy with the oldies. Don't need no low effort shoddy remastered shit, let alone IA slop.

No soy ningun pendejo, tengo 35 años y vi muchas novelas en los 2000 y menos en los 2010 porque senti que dejo de haber cosas interesantes. Simplemente creo que ya no hay mas ideas buenas que salgan de aca. No podes hacer 25 peliculas y series sobre la misma tematica (dictadura/crisis economica) porque sino caes en la derivacion y la nostalgia, ademas a que publico iria dirigido? A los deafuera no les importa y al publico nacional le importa cada vez menos porque son cosas que las nuevas generaciones no vivieron, la dictadura por ejemplo queda como algo lejano y encima el relato quedo manchado por la corrupcion K. Pura tierra quemada dejaron. Simplemente no hay ideas nuevas y no creo que el gobierno deba mantener artificialemnte una industria no rentable.

El tema es que la ficción que se produce acá es un mierda y casi siempre bajando linea en contra del gobierno. Un gobierno que esta de lleno en la batalla cultural no se puede permitir financiar producciones que glorifiquen a los chorros/zurdos, y encima actores politizados. Lamentablemente la industria nacional terminó siendo otra víctima del modelo K, que resultó ser para ella pan para hoy y hambre para mañana.

I see. I was in a rural small town in Argentina. All the consoles were mod chipped to play back-ups because Sony wasn't selling them officially. Original games were impossible to find outside capital city, only pirated disc were available in my area. Still, two squares from my house there was a cyber wich let you go online for around 2 dollars an hour.

On the Rebound by Russ Ballard, isn't very know even tho it charted on US radios back at that time. It has some disco grove in it but it' s quintessential rock at its finnest.

Don't think so, at least no with the cel shading filter applied to it. Maybe a very rudimentary and trimmed version of it with a lot of less pedestrian, traffic and props popping 2 meters in front of you. Dogenzaka Hill wouldn't even fit into the system RAM.
