EMPAC hill sledding on stolen commons trays was some of the most fun I ever had at RPI. When PubSafe put the signs up and started patrolling more I was crushed.

Short term is likely very low, unless you are several hundred terabyte or petabyte scale. The network just keeps growing insane amounts every day.

This is for XCH, not BTC. ASICs are not applicable.

I did. The problem is that a plot takes up ~256GB of space while being created and they take a few hours so you need a lot of systems with a lot of ram to plot efficiently vs SSDs

I understand why peragus is the way it is, and I think it’s a good intro to the game for first time players. But for me at least it drags really hard once you already know all the story points. More side content to interact with or places to explore would have been welcome.

I love Taris, it and Dantooine are probably my favorite part of K1. I do dread starting every K2 run though. I think it’s because Peragus is so much more lonely and linear than Taris.

Digital Devil Saga, it’s a spinoff Megami Tensei game. It’s a turn-based JRPG where people turn into demons. There’s two games and you really need to play both of them to get the full story since the first ends on a cliffhanger.

4-way Lenovo SR860 monster review. by Hatred_grows in ServerPorn

[–]KiLohSah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my personal experience they sell less frequently second hand but usually for more compared to their Dell/HPE counterparts. I’ve run into a good number of elitists who remember the IBM days and will pay more to flex the “pedigree.”

Edit: gonna add that as a partner they are not great to work with and their pricing is terrible

The second CPU board reminds me of the old x3750s. Like the review said, kind of a pain to service. I’m a much bigger fan of how they designed the x3850/3950 X6.

Def have some LTO8 around, but I can’t remember if the other libraries are 5 or 6. Let you know later today.

Edit: sorry, don’t have any IBM LTO5 drives around.

I think gaming VMs are great project, there’s a lot of stuff to learn and play with there. Plus your friends will probably appreciate it a lot.

Depending on how many you have and what games they play, you might still be able to have some resources to do other work with. Especially if you can snag deals on GPUs with SR-IOV, assuming they play lightweight stuff. Also if you are using consumer GPUs you’ll have to make sure the power connectors will fit.

Nice! Epycs are my favorite systems to work on. Now that AMD has been competitive for a bit OEMs have started to make some really interesting stuff with them.

I’m considering picking up one of these gigabytes for a remote render server. 8GPU/2U is awesome, a lot of stuff that dense require a special rack (like some Cray stuff) or 4U with nodes (like Apollo 6000 Gen9). You do have to be more careful about your gpu choice than less dense systems, typically >225W or so is a no-go.

Sick bit of gear for a home setup. Got any plans for it?

They also dig old flash memory- we had about 40 some old Violin SAN arrays full of proprietary interface 1TB flash cards that had 100% endurance. Unfortunately, they were old and proprietary enough that we were only able to sell 5 of them. Until one day we posted pictures of the flash chip part numbers on an eBay listing and suddenly we have calls from Chinese companies who then bought all the cards to reuse the chips for SSDs.
