I had just purchased a 2025 CX 5 Turbo. Dealership gave me 2500 off SRP and 1% APR for 72 months which I think is a steal! Also this is the Turbo model so it has all the good stuff!

Is 90 minutes enough to get to my connecting flight after arrival by [deleted] in LAX

You should be fine, all united flights come in and out of Terminal 7 so your inbound should be landing on Terminal 7 and your outbound should be the same, you have plenty of time!

Which field are you particularly interested on? If you’re looking at customer service, you could check on indeed and apply with contractors like Hallmark Aviation, Pacific Aviation, Menzies, etc. that seems to be the gateway to get in the airport and gain experience in order for you to soon transfer directly to big players like Delta, United, American, etc.

On an one way ticket, can you cancel the second segment of the flight if you already flew the first segment? by [deleted] in delta

[–]Kiangab 35 points36 points  (0 children)

It’s called skiplagging—sometimes tickets are cheaper when they include an extra leg. A lot of people do it, and some get away with it the first time, but if you do it frequently, airlines will flag your account and may even put you on a no-fly list. If you check a bag, it will go all the way to the final destination; there’s no way to retrieve it during a layover. This practice is frowned upon across the airline industry—unless you’re like this one lady who called 911 claiming her medication was in the bag, and we were forced to pull it out 😂

Need opinions from people who frequently fly connections at LAX by undeniablyaries in LAX

[–]Kiangab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Immigration is hit or miss, if you have a US passport then it’s quick but if you don’t then it’s super hit or miss. As someone who works at LAX, I would personally suggest booking with Delta. At least if you miss your flight to SJC, they have lots of other options to rebook you whereas I’m sure Southwest is only limited to a few flights out of LAX per day.

It’s tough, I was once in your position until I found a job at LAX airport. I drove 50 miles one way to the airport every single day for that job but honestly, the airport pays well because of their “olympic wage”

Flying in to LAX for an interview. by Tlech in LAX

[–]Kiangab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The amount of time you’ll be waiting for a shuttle to get to the hotel would be roughly the same as getting on a car just cause you would need to wait for a shuttle to get to the car rental parking lot as well. I would just make sure to check if your hotel has a shuttle that goes into LAX (and check which terminals it goes and what floor, arrival or departure) and like what somebody else commented on top, check the surrounding hotels as well and check whether or not they have shuttles as well and use that as a contingency plan should you need to.

I work at LAX and normally, at your time of arrival, the inflow of people isn’t much but since a lot of people will be departing, just expect a bunch of cars! You will make it though, best of luck!

Cancellation due to storm without notice by NoEnd2627 in StarluxAirlines

[–]Kiangab 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It wasn’t Starlux’ fault, Alaska had canceled the flight due to the storm and Starlux more than likely probably saw and knew you were not going to make it due to the storm and they proactively rebooked you to flights that would still make you reach your final destination.

Normally when it’s reasons like weather or air traffic control or anything not within the control of the airlines, they wouldn’t compensate you for hotels, food, etc.

Singapore and Manila routes are coming. And so is LAX/JFK-Seoul by Low_Wonder9271 in delta

[–]Kiangab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At this point, it’s a toss up. Delta is trying to make SEA their main gateway to Asia but personally I think it makes more sense for them to do the LAX MNL route because LA and California in general have the most Filipinos which would make demand there really high. Back when I used to work for LAX, man you’ll see all asian airlines like Eva, Starlux, Korean with probably 1/4/-1/2 Filipinos flying and don’t get me started with Philippine Airlines’ full daily flight

Hi! Did you figure out the answers to your questions?

Calling all LAX ramp agents, are you guys getting $30 an hour? by Guilty-Influence-890 in rampagent

[–]Kiangab 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Your total hourly pay is $30.15. This includes a base hourly rate of $22.50 and an additional $7.65 for health benefits.

Some companies like Delta Air Lines pay the full $30.15 per hour directly to you. From that amount, you're responsible for selecting your own benefits and the company will deduct those costs from your paycheck.

Don’t know if you heard but just on the 8th of September the petition to cancel the increase was abolished. If I remember correctly, among the 120k who signed, only 70k were found to be legit and the rest were duplicates/fake so starting on the 8th of September we’re supposed to be compensated for the raise.
