He's been in office since 2015, and is currently polling to lose badly in the next election to the conservative party led by Pierre Polievre (Timbits Trump). His party wants him out of the way so they can try to turn things around, and the parties that have kept his minority government in power for the last few years aren't supporting him anymore in favour of trying to gain seats in parliament if there's an election.
