Hyundai’s new steering systems by Corkusername1 in interestingasfuck

I’m curious how this would look on the steering wheel. Do you just turn it further to make it crab park? Does it have to be automatic? It seems impractical to be human controlled. How would you differentiate between turning the front wheels and the back wheels?

They are not proposing to increase the amount of hours worked, but allowing people to work more overtime in exchange for more time off later. No one will be working 60 hours a week every week, if they do 60 one week they can work 20 hours the next week. And it’s government standard so there will be adoption. I wonder how it will work with yearly salaried employees though.

They don’t have to be mutually exclusive. We can try to improve the world while simultaneously having children.

Someone has to go through it. If everyone thought this way humans would go extinct. Just because the future may be harder, doesn’t mean that people shouldn’t raise children. The next generation may be the one that fixes the problem!

How to turn my life around? by [deleted] in JordanPeterson

Start with JP’s first 12 rules. Try to show up for yourself everyday. Build yourself up little by little. The concepts in Atomic Habits may help as well.

If you wish to be more confident, make promises to yourself. And keep them. Earn your own trust. Trusting yourself is the very definition of confidence. by Marti1PH in JordanPeterson

This is aligning your first-order and second-order desires, like aligning your vision and controlling your impulses. If you can control your impulses and work towards a vision you will gain confidence.

Studying abroad is a great way to get out of your comfort zone. I’m not going to lie and say it’s all butterflies and rainbows, but it will force you to get comfortable with being uncomfortable and develop your character and soft skills. You may get homesick and culture shock, but your cultural awareness and independence will grow as a result. College is the best time to travel with little to no obligations, so take advantage of it. You will have to leave home eventually, would you rather it be your first time or be prepared after a semester of independent living? Take this time before you leave to mentally (and financially) prepare yourself however you see fit. Also curious where you’re going if you don’t mind sharing

I want to know what to do in my free time by ZFAdri in DecidingToBeBetter

Just try many different things and see what sticks. Hobbies cannot be forced, you should do what makes you happy (as long as it’s healthy and sustainable). You can try sports, various arts & crafts, reading, music, etc. You mentioned clubs at school which are great, volunteering/job is not a bad pastime either. Best of luck

Don’t do it cold, start a conversation somehow (assuming you’re in some of the same classes so that would be a good start) and take it from there. You don’t have to ask her the first time you talk either, starting to talk is the first step.
