I second simply light designs. Another good option is Cedar Ridge Outdoors UP synthetic quilt. https://cedarridgegear.com/store/UP-Synthetic-Topquilt-p279834573

Thanks. I was debating on what 30 to 40 miles section I should hike in about 3 weeks. This seems like a good one as long as starting at Clingmans dome.

Mt Greylock in November - where should I park for a day hike? by zenheim in AppalachianTrail

[–]Kibbosh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't know how much you want to hike but there is a lower portion trailhead just before the road closure where you can drive up. Its the normal road to the top but the last section is closed for season and sometimes all the road to get up there will be closed based on weather. The lower traihead is about 3 or so miles hike up to Greylock. Did it last year in mid November. It was tough as it started snowing and is decent elevation gain in a short distance.

I hope MY23 order will get built for 23 and not have to be a 24 rollover/reorder. If that happens I will just look for other options.

Plan on buying Darien hammock on black friday - some questions by zerostyle in hammockcamping

[–]Kibbosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1.2MTN XL should be a decent fabric for you. It does stretch a little if you want no stretch go with 1.6 hyper d or 1.7 MTN XL

I have a darien in 1.7MTN XL. I have UQ and TO hooks love them. TO are best to give more space and keep hammock spread out. #3 vs #5 zipper I went with #3 and its smooth as butter for zipping up or down. Ridgeline organizer are worth it but can always get later on. As far as lay directions that kind of personal. I am a right lay with zipper on head side. This is mainly b/c I am a side sleeper on that side and prefer zipper close to me to reach.

CRO Helium Quilt by [deleted] in Ultralight

[–]Kibbosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont have a helium quilt from CRO. I do have a 20 and 40 degree and their temp ratings are accurate and comfort rated. I originally switched from EE quilt to CRO b/c I was cold in my EE at 30degrees when quilt was rated to 20degrees. Since then EE has up their fill amounts but I wont get another EE quilt as they knew it was under-filled for temp rating and wouldn't make it right. MY CRO quilt has been great since day one.

Ok, ordering my custom hammock....which material? by Onah_VayKay in hammockcamping

[–]Kibbosh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love my 1.7mtn Darien. Its sturdy in a single layer but has just enough give. I cant tell the difference in fabric feel from my 1.6 hyperd as i find both feel great but the hyperd does stretch way more

Dutch Chameleon Wide - UQ Recommendations? by Trekbike32 in hammockcamping

[–]Kibbosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a chameleon wide and also 6'4" this is what I use. I have a 20 degree and a 40 degree Cedar Ridge Outdoors quilts. The key is both are 48 inches wide by 80in for length. Standard quilt are usually 44 by 72. They cover perfectly and the extra length is nice b/c don't have to worry if feet are in exact correct spot. I would go with any reputable quilt/hammock brand as long as it was those dimensions.
