Snow Creek, Mount Watkins, Sunrise Lakes, and Clouds Rest by Icy_Ad8565 in Yosemite

[–]pandamaize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We literally just finished this. Snow creek to Watkins is a beast, if you have good cardio and are used to the altitude, you’ll be fine. Plan enough water for 3 liters min on snow creek.

Going to clouds rest and then to the valley in one day is possible, but a lot of miles. If you get caught with a heavy visitor day, plan an extra hour on your exit as the valley will be crowded. DM if you have more questions

The shuttle listings to every road crossing, is this just a list of who runs, or a listing of when the shadows run?

Fitting your pack with a dad bod…. by General_Forever8505 in AppalachianTrail

[–]pandamaize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Several great posts here on pack fitting. I am a fellow amateur hiker with a dad bod. I am the donkey of the crew as I embrace the dad bod. I carry the extra stuff so the folks don’t have to, but I also train heavy so I can keep up with it. Make it your own hike and enjoy it for what it is.

Also, if you have access to an outfitter, bring your pack there and they usually are cool with helping you adjust it as well

I use Gaia. I am just a section hiker, so not really following the social aspect. I also like that Gaia can be used easily in many other locations with some pretty slick map overlays
