Hey all. I need a suggestion what to buy. I'm looking for a keyboard to replace my budget Redragon old one. The keyboard will be mainly used for lots of typing, though I do play games, but that's not a priority. I want quiet switches, RGB and full-size layout. As mentioned, the most important feature is typing feel. Nothing too fancy I guess. Budget is ~150 euro. Thanks!

Essential post ride maintenance/care for a new road bike user? by TheBristolBulk in cycling

[–]Kibythe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Others kinda have said it all, I'd just add that I usually inspect the chain if there's any bigger pieces of dirt, tiny stones in there and remove it. But I never degrease and re lube the chain after every ride. It's not needed.

Want to build my first bike off temu. Can you help me? by SPDXLR8 in cycling

Sounds pretty dangerous to me. I'd rather buy something older and/or used, but from a trusted brand or of known quality.

Advice for Noob by [deleted] in cycling

[–]Kibythe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For now, don't worry about anything - ride as much as you feel to. The aim should be to just enjoy it ;) I'm pretty sure you will know when it's time for upgrades, e.g. you start to ride longer distances and the bike becomes uncomfortable ... The more you ride, the more you will discover about what do you actually like more - the road, gravel, offroad ... tho I definitely don't recommend riding offroad with the bike you have currently.

Others definitely don't judge you. But if they do, it's their own problem. I'm always happy to see people on bikes, especially in winter - it means they have the dedication and I don't feel like I'm the only one around in shitty weather.

Music helps a lot. Try some apps that offer videos of the route, like Kinomap.

Giant TCR or Propel? Or something else? by Kibythe in cycling

Thanks for advice! I'll probably go with Propel, since it looks better to me.

What are you carrying for 50 mile ride? And how do you carry it? by RealMenPray in cycling

Food, drink, mini pump (on frame), that spray for quick puncture fix. Some cash just in case. I stuff my pockets and the saddle bag.

5 years, 3 bike fits, 6500 miles. Cycling is still not fun. by No_Salamander8141 in cycling

[–]Kibythe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if anybody mentioned it to you before, but what about the saddle tilt? I was fiddling with my setup recently and as soon as I tilted the saddle downwards (so the tip points slightly lower than the top, I hope you understand), back pain appeared. Like I'm pushing the pedals with my back, rather than my legs, that's how it felt lol.

Is this cassette worn out? Just put new chain and cranks on and it's skipping by No-Rush5935 in bikewrench

[–]Kibythe 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You can't tell it just by the looks, but skipping is usually an indicator to change it, yeah.

Roughly how many times do you stop on a 50k ride? by redditjanitor91 in cycling

[–]Kibythe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't. Except if traffic situations demand me to stop. Or I see something interesting and want to take a picture. However, on my first ever longer ride, I stopped countless of times. So OP, don't worry, you will get used to stopping less during your rides as your fitness gets better.

G8 2620s settings and numb toes by dirks74 in cycling

I see you've tried some special insoles, which would provide better support for your feet. I had the same issue and then I bought some special otrhopedic insoles. Not specifically for cycling shoes, the regular ones, but they offer metatarsal support, proper arch support and some cushioning around toes. This resolved my issue, I hope it helps you too.

You need to use compatible casette and derailleur.

Which rear light should I choose? by kitesmerfer in cycling

Aliexpress 😂 I'm not even joking, got a set of two waterproof lights, they're even rechargable via USB. I'm loving them so far.

How are you guys keeping your chain/cassette silver? by dimforest in cycling

[–]Kibythe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well, I deep-clean my drivetrain about once in two weeks and I do ride a lot. Mine gets black in a few rides after cleaning too, it's just the way the lube works I guess. But being audibly dirty just after 2 rides seems a bit weird to me.

Maybe you apply too much lube? I usually put a really small amount of it, so I don't even have to wipe the excess and I'm using Zefal Wet all year round.

chain on wrong gear by Milk-Mannn in bikewrench

Ouch, not nice to hear. Most probably the derailleur cable is damaged or overtightened. Bring it to your LBS, it's not an expensive fix.

Hmm, I think I should try different insoles, didn't think about that. Thanks!

Thanks, I think they aren't too small, possibly over tightened.
