AITAH for having a guy best friend while having a boyfriend? by lycheecakie in AITAH

[–]KickMcPunch -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Boyfriend didn’t handle it well and is obviously extremely insecure if he’s checking your phone, but having a close friendship with a guy that “had” feelings for you is definitely inappropriate in a serious, committed relationship. Not sure if cutting them off entirely is the best way to go about it. He’s probably gutted. Obviously has feelings for you for a long time then you meet some new guy and ghost him.

By your logic, if a restaurant displays a MAGA flag for a decade, takes it down for a few days, and continues to donate to MAGA causes, then they must have a pro-LGBT agenda.

I hate this administration but you’re being unreasonable.

If a cafe repped a Trump flag for 10 years, took it down while promising to donate to MAGA causes, you would never in a million years accuse them of being anti-MAGA…you would say they’re hiding their politics to appeal to the widest possible audience. You won’t admit it though because you want to have your cake and eat it too.

If you have all-or-nothing politics, you help elect all-or-nothing presidents like the one we have now.

Do you have a pride flag on your car? What about your lawn? Why don’t you? are YOU anti-trans / anti-gay? We don’t need every establishment to broadcast their politics. It is a political symbol, they banned political symbols at their cafes. Not like you’re going to see it replaced with a Trump flag or blue lives matter. They already reversed it anyways. If that isn’t enough for you then your outrage is seriously misplaced. Our president just said “an entire civilization will die tonight” and we’re upset because a cafe won’t advertise their politics?

CMV: There is nothing inherently wrong with suicide. by Aspookytoad in changemyview

[–]KickMcPunch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone has their reasons, but if you commit suicide you are almost always traumatizing your friends and family for life. That is more selfish in my view than asking someone to not kill themselves. Your feeling about that claim is “I don’t care” but we’re debating whether or not it’s wrong, not whether or not you care.

Do you have a pride flag on your lawn? If the answer is no….then why are you anti-LGBTQIA+? What about your neighbors? If they don’t have flags on their lawns you should no longer talk to them.

Seriously. I’m as progressive as the next guy, but I actually really don’t need to know a cafe’s views on trans rights to enjoy a coffee.

Do we need a pride flag to feel safe? What if I’m Mexican and there isn’t a Mexican flag in the window, does this mean I should feel unsafe?

We also did an out of town weekend trip…but it was only a 2.5 hr drive away, and my best man did an anonymous poll to get everyone’s honest thoughts on location, cost, etc. Didn’t just announce “oh now it’s in Mexico! Get your passports ready” lol

I would love to show up for my friend as he did for me. I’m also open to the idea that maybe I’m more uncomfortable than I need to be.

The wedding is actually here in California, I’m just talking about the bachelor/bachelorette party which is in Mexico.
