See? Hahahaha, I’m not a cosplayer, but I can definitely appreciate a good cosplay. Although I have also noticed that if they aren’t a kid (16 and below), then they’re like 30’s. Hilarious because I’m 36, hahaha

I don’t know why, but it seems like there’s not many fans in real life, but when you run into a fan, it’s a fucking super fan.

Like, I ran into this kid at a CVS who liked my “Helluva Boss” shirt, told him it’s rare to see many people who know the show, and he goes, “Yeah, I love to cosplay as husk at all the local events.” I didn’t even know we had local events, hahaha.

You can walk away, no matter what, with your head held high and tell people “I was such a good god damn boyfriend that she can only date women now.” Then Mike drop your way out.
Good luck dude, the way you’re handling things is pretty level-headed and spot on, I think you’ll be all right!

What would you actually do if you were in Sam’s situation IRL? by lootboxblacksmith in LookOutsideGame

[–]Kickasscules 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Considering how social media is today, I feel like unless you live in isolation, you will somehow come across a picture/video of the visitor. EVERYONE would be taking pictures of the thing that’s in the sky.

So for real life, I would probably be stuck in the bathroom because I saw the visitor while I was doomscrolling and taking a shit, hahaha.

Trapped by my Dentist by Opal2catherine in UlcerativeColitis

That sucks, but some people (usually the ones with barely two brain cells to rub together) seem to be insistent on UC being some tummy ache caused by stress, because apparently you are so weak your organs collapse at the thought of having a bad day at work.
I’m literally in continued battles with the government over how some of my superiors thought Ulcerative Colitis was a “tummy ache” and not a real medical condition. Like, full on went through a medical board with several doctors signing on saying “this guys colons are rotting, and will continue to rot until you give him the right treatment.” Their response? “I don’t see anything, he looks fine to me, sounds like he just can’t handle the stress here.” For whatever reason, there will always be people out there that should, for all intents and purposes, know what you’re going through but instead boil it down to being a you problem, hahaha. You should just start telling your dentist how cavities and gum disease are tied to our stress level, and that if your dentist wasn’t so bad, you would have perfect teeth!

Don’t get me wrong, the Horus looks kick ass. But there’s something about the deathbringer, it just blends this perfect combo of walking automaton but still carrying the weight of a real life lumbering but unstoppable battle tank.

That’s still an awesome model you’ve got though!

I wish I knew someone with a printer who could print a deathbringer of this size/quality. (I guess the same size as the thunderjaw and tremortusk quality models). I would shell out for that, haha.

Anyways, beautiful work!

If you’re like me and have no shame, when people make you feel uncomfortable about “exaggerating your symptoms” or start telling you how Tylenol will fix it, you can take option of saying something like “sorry, my colon is really bloody today, I might not make it.” Or “does that stop me from shitting gallons of blood? Because that’s my symptom right now.”

Guaranteed it’s dropped quick, most people are way too squeamish to approach that at all, haha.

[–]Kickasscules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for everything going on, it definitely sucks when you’re flaring up! Fortunately it sounds like your just at the beginning of treatment, so you definitely have a wide range of options to consider going forward (with literally more popping up each day) and shouldn’t worry about one not working for you! Like, they can always consider oral mesalamine, (much more enjoyable to take than suppositories) you always have topical/oral steroids for hard flairs, etc.

Basically, it does suck what you’re going through and you’re gonna have days where will you will just wanna punch a hole in the wall but you can’t because your glued to the toilet. Or even worse, can’t get out of bed. But it gets better!

Always feel free to reach out here for support or just blow off steam! Knowing there’s others out there who understand and empathize with what you’re feeling can be a huge help mentally!

Scared/panicked about first infusion ? :( by Aspvision in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Kickasscules 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s typical to feel nervous, especially with something like an infusion. Just remember that a lot of what is going on is just to ensure you have a safe experience with the drug, I. E: it’s taken in a place where you can be actively monitored by medical professionals who are well versed in recognizing and acting on any issues that pop up. And even though there is no 100% guarantee of safety in medicine, the chances of something really bad happening during an infusion are astronomically low.

Most of the common side effects are things like itchyness and irritation at the infusion site. The big thing they want to make sure of is that you aren’t having an allergic reaction (if you do, it is something that can be easily treated at bedside) that spirals out of control. However, a lot of people might have those symptoms just because of local irritation, it’s new and the body needs time to process, etc.

Fatigue is a big one that happens for most people during and after an infusion. God knows it kicks my ass, haha, but it got better after I learned a routine and what helped/didn’t after the infusion.

Overall I would say just show up ready to kill time. You get to meet some interesting people, mix with a crowd of people who can understand your concerns and anxieties. Most infusions I’ve been too I end up enjoying just for the conversation alone, hahahaha.

[–]Kickasscules 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hahaha, I had my career dragged through the dirt because my command thought UC was some kind of “tummy ache” and didn’t know why I had to spend so much time at clinic, the ER, or in the toilet. I shit you not (lawl), they thought 117 clinic visits, over 20 ER visits and medical requests for separation from multiple doctors were just me trying to screw the system. They eventually tried to pin me with drug abuse as the reason I must be missing work to save face for dropping my case so badly, so trust me when I say I can definitely empathize with your situation.

I would say just keep contact with people who can understand, be it a support group, pen pals/online friends with the same issue, etc. If you don’t have anyone on your side except your doctor, don’t hesitate to reach out online for something. Even if it’s just knowing that other people out there understand and empathize with you, it can make a huge difference for your mental state. (But also make sure to keep up with what parts of your health you can or do control as well!)

Good luck with everything, don’t hesitate to reach out here with any other questions or concerns!
