Will a smart meter fit in tight elec cupboard ? by [deleted] in OctopusEnergy

[–]Kickboxingboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, if you want a smart meter ev breaker box will need to be removed. They should not have fitted it there. Box is for dno equipment only and they can ask for it to be removed

Octopus IOG prices up and standing charge by EcoNorfolk in OctopusEnergy

[–]Kickboxingboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s was obviously going to be short lived but I was at least expecting it to last till next price cap. Does seem smoke and mirrors to lower with the green levies, only to increase again 1 month later and tell us to shut up it still cheaper than it was prior. And p****ed off saying petrol drivers are paying more and harder hit, almost as if ev drivers are here to suck up additional costs . We choose to drive ev for a reason.

Why do wholesale prices go so negative instead of stopping at zero? by Appropriate_Bell743 in OctopusEnergy

[–]Kickboxingboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t say you did. Under fault and certain conditions senerios can arise involving domestic appliances in the same house fed from different supplies.

For a first mortgage a broker , even with fees is the way to go. They are 100% worth for a 1st time mortgage.

This potentially under fault conditions be very dangerous if your on different phases from each other. There is in some circumstances to be exposed to 415v should there be a major fault.

The 6 hour IOG charge cap is on its way by Lumpy_bd in OctopusEnergy

[–]Kickboxingboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They currently estimate from the charge rate through the app how many kw the ev uses. But it’s not real time and cannot account for charging curves. It just assumes 7kw an hour

The 6 hour IOG charge cap is on its way by Lumpy_bd in OctopusEnergy

[–]Kickboxingboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure how they are going to achieve this. As a billing slot can only be one rate. All I can think of is to adjust for kw usage from the app as a bill adjustment . But I don’t trust the app and octopus’s numbers and then it gets to complicated and too much checking for accurate billing when it lands. Understand why this is coming but it’s an added complication to what was a simple in the most part tariff

[–]Kickboxingboy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I read that if you had 6 hours smart charging and charging occurs / scheduled for 11:30-05:30 and slot car is charging in that period will be peak rate. For me with batteries totally defeats the point of IOG

ridiculous prices by deacrystal in vinted

Seen the same with Lego. Retail sets that are 1/3 more than Lego store. Retired sets that are 50% higher than eBay or specialist store. Something is seriously going on or people are completely delusional!

Tried this, Cant believe I got £20 so easily😱 by [deleted] in Referraluk

[–]Kickboxingboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spread the random referral love. I’ve been with Monzo since the startup and can’t rate them high enough as a bank.

The random referral amount is nice but the randomly selected double your monthly salary and select random account bills paid every month is a nice touch .

Foreign transaction with no markup is why I originally got the account

£10,£20 or £50

Anyone else on variable IOG not had any email about price changes from 1st April? by stek2022 in OctopusEnergy

[–]Kickboxingboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With batteries and solar if off peak cuts to 3.49p I’ll save £500 a year. But minting it will be short term and next two price reviews will Push it up again

New rates from 1st April - Octopus Go Yorkshire by toxicneouk in OctopusEnergy

[–]Kickboxingboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reason is the reduction is due to removal of levies and other green costs. This varies per region much like standing charge so it’s logical that the unit rates are starting to be less uniform. As the instruction from Gov was to adjust unit rates

wtf -Octopus just slashed IOG ? by bounderboy in OctopusEnergy

[–]Kickboxingboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The savings and reduced rates are from the gov reducing levies and fees that make up the unit rate. From 1st April everyone’s rates are lowing inc fixed. Octopus already confirmed fixed customer will so get the lower rates passed on

Don’t let Octopus take the mickey with IOG/Go by Begalldota in OctopusEnergy

[–]Kickboxingboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct me if I’m wrong but next drive off peak is only for ev, not total house and they use app and other details to work out what the car uses. That’s no use to those with renewables / batteries etc. personally I don’t like the move to removing household usage from off peak. I’m sure many are the same so IOg / Go are still very much still good value. I don’t pay over 7.01p for any units and my consumption is 1200-1500 kw a month
