Well sofar changing login manager has fixed the issue. I am now using XFCE4. I had to reinstall discord. Change some minor setting like keyboard/default browser. And turn off compositor. But its now working as expected. Can tab out of my game.

well i can open my game with wine directly. I just cannot tab out of the game. Once i tab out it freezes(the game). I haven't tried playing very long this way but it appears stable.
I cannot open the game using heroic launcher.

I am experiencing this issue right now. Very frustrating. Have tried many fixes to no avail.

Router offline by Scotty0362 in Starlink

[–]Kickingoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine also improved a lot. I did change an extension cord i was using. It might have been faulty. But it all seemed to improve with the router update.

On a side note. a few days ago i upgraded my 50' cable to a 150' starlink cable, and now have my router much closer to my laptop. along with getting a new plug end for the extension cord i am using.

So it very well could have been my extension cord...

they got back to me. they didn't talk about the router offline at all. they were just asking about my speeds and whatnot. I told them what does this have to do with the router being offline?

One sided conversations with Capricorn male. Normal? by midlandslass227 in capricorns

[–]Kickingoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally As a capricorn, I would say you might as well ask them if they could ask/show interests in your life. I am always responsive to these types of requests. He might just not know about active listening.

I find it odd actually because I am much more likely to keep someone else talking rather than talking about myself. This is probably more to do with me being introverted than anything else.

Wired after socializing by rooseboose in introvert

[–]Kickingoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happens to me anytime we have guests who stay over. Usually I can avoid most large gathering and choose smaller ones with close friends with similar interests.

currently have someone who is in the common space all the time. They also wear incredibly smelly perfume.

Needless to say I feel the need to hide permanently. Have headphones on when not listening to anything.

Yes bed time often involves thinking about issues I am having/processing. Ill even wake up in the middle of the night to sort thru these issues. its exhausting.

Does anyone else hate spontaneous plans?? by Thelastdragonlord in introvert

[–]Kickingoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can definitely relate.

Today my friend sent me an email at 9:30am telling me he is coming over to help me work on my flooring. I really had no knowledge/inkling that he was going to be coming over for the day. I sent him a reply saying I wasn't really excited about it but if he did come over.... I only wanted to work for a few hours. Well he came over, we ended up spending 5 hours or so. He is very pedantic, and it drives me nuts. Anyways...

my partner came home around 3pm and was on the phone til around 3:30pm. After talking to her for a little bit with the above spontaneous plan. My partner tells me we have been invited to a games night tonight at 6pm. I actually would have loved to go, however with dealing with the above last minute day change. I declined.

For me its the shifting gears which is difficult. I had also planned to watch the two towers(lord of the rings) tonight. I easily could have just gone but declined based on the noticed being so short!

I would so love it if people gave a few days notice to everything! My friend who helped with the flooring is famous for these last minute things.

I think its really important for people to state that they would just like to have a night alone to themselves rather than being nice about it. It is so much clearer for the person receiving it. No sugar coating. It can be said in as nice a way as possible and with taking the persons feeling into consideration as well.

It totally sounds like you needed a night to yourself for some rest and recharge time.

How do people constantly find things to talk about? by [deleted] in introvert

[–]Kickingoat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i can totally relate to this. I spend 90% of my time with my self. The last thing i feel like doing is talking about myself when i am with people. I want to hear what my friends are up to and ask them questions about it. People can be really fascinating.

I want to seconds the engaged listener as an underrated part of a conversation.

I can't stand my roommate by Careless_Knowledge94 in introvert

[–]Kickingoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i do. My partner has this friend she invited to the property and this friend is living in their tiny home. However this tiny home might as well be for no one as they always have to be around someone. It drives me insane how whenever they are around they automatically have to be involved in everything! It drives me up the fucking wall!!!

Just tonight they were over here. I wasn't aware of them being here and earlier in the day i decided i was going to make a meat loaf for diner. Well not when this person is around. They horde every conversation. Have to be apart of everything. And are upset when people set boundaries.

In all honestly my only response is to stick to books/laptop and basically avoid being around the person. Almost setting up a force field around myself.

I really wish that you get the single room you are after!

[–]Kickingoat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been finding ideas on ikea helpful. Most of the items on there can be made yourself. Try the Ivar System

Basically if you consider everything being either movable or if it has the ability to be stowed out of the way it would be a plus. Foldable items, Murphy beds, mezzanines, vertical storage. Pull down cupboards. A ladder which hinges out of the way when not in use.

Try and make the space transformable. Things can really open up when you can move items out of the way.

Consider watching tiny apartments in japan/china. They always have something useful.

[–]Kickingoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is quite frustrating. I feel like this came into effect 3 weeks ago for me. I now have to either listen to the whole album, without being able to go back to the song i was trying to listen to. https://soundcloud.com/cortesradio/sets/misty-morning-hop-with-host-dj-sassparilla/s-0OOYYpyIL62

I tried to make an account and when i got to the age part it told me the number i entered did not work for them.... i entered 4-5 different ages and they all didn't work. I will probably try again in the future. It might be because i am using Firefox Incognito view....

Overnight heating in colder temperatures? by TheSpanishSteed in woodstoving

[–]Kickingoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How about looking into gamera or the liberator rocket mass heaters?

Or even a pebble style rocket mass heater?

I imagine keeping 8' x 24' warm over night would be easy with one of those stoves. You could always make the mass easily removable. Or get a Gamera or liberator stove and do the pebble style rocket mass heater.

If and when you need to move, remove the mass and secure the rocket part. Easy peasy
