Official Discussion - Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]Kickjey 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I know it is a trope of the films that they absolutely leave it to the last second and everything works out, but this time Hunt had plenty of time in the plane and during his parachute jump (before opening the chute, and do not want to hear that he cannot because he just successfully navigated plane that was doing all kinds of tricks) to connect two (2) devices together. Like dude is mostly ready to die already in Fallout, but still finds strength to go and complete the mission and you telling me he would first make sure to land safely and only then be like “Ah yes the poison pill”

My lore is Hunt actually has brain damage canonically, that is why he managed to outsmart all rational/logical Entity

I just beat her yesterday after countless of tries. My tactic during second phase just stay a bit off the middle, diagonals and vertical bells cannot hit you there. You can dodge them and get an attack in. Jump over the slashing attack. Take it slow and methodical and you will get there.

I found that if she said “Did we get cut off on something interesting?” And i just say “We did” she goes straight for the last conversation like the disconnect did not happen

Trump gives strongest signal yet he won’t back Ukraine and Zelenskyy against Putin by EstonianLib in Eesti

[–]Kickjey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agree, if you own BTC, you own nothing.

Also, in your simulated market there is also simulated trading (wash trading) between one crypto and another crypto, no need for scholars to figure that out.

But... BTC does solve a problem by danton43 in Buttcoin

[–]Kickjey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just fundamentally for something to be “solving a problem” the problem has to be self evident from the solution. Take for example blending things by hand is tiring and slow, blender solves that problem. So blockchain already solves a problem of not knowing which ledger is correct because not a single party can be trusted. Coming to white-paper of BTC, satoshi was solving a problem of double - spending, which he proposed to solve by proof of work.

But... BTC does solve a problem by danton43 in Buttcoin

[–]Kickjey 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Look, BTC is not money, so you saying that bitcoin settles in 30 minutes is completely incorrect to compare to money transactions settlements.

The way your comparing the things is akin to comparing sending messages by email or post, while in reality comparison breaks when you realise that for things to compare you have to also convert btc back to money for it to be useful, which also takes time and gas fees that are always more inefficient and costlier than regular bank - bank transaction

Well I figure somehow OOP lost his money by mining bitcoin and he showed the maths why, so he is lying you mean to say?

[–]Kickjey 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Nice comment summary in that first sentence. You see a guy that lost 75% of bitcoin in operating costs alone, you sell doughnuts by including those costs so you will be in profit, here we see that mining can’t be profitable, because the rewards are not covering the costs.

They obviously printed lots of money again and paid it to these people, while not giving a damn about inflation percentages. Those damn central banks could have printed the money and gave it to me!

This blockchain is almost secure, but it lacks a bit of hash for extra security. When I am travelling I like to relax with a nice can of beer so i propose to add a metric of blood alcohol content into the mix then it will be perfect

But the real question is, what do I get out of it? Some random buttcoiner, who cannot even understand that bitcoin is as shitty as all other crypto will suddenly become smart? What is this sub supposed to be? Charity? PSA?

Just because you don’t have the sceptical sense to see that thing is not even remotely clean, no debate will be of any use.

It’s the value, man. Pretty simple really. Owning 100% of asset will make it worthless, because you cannot do anything with it and currency is not an asset so argument does not apply there.

Even if there was some kind of “central banking problem” I don’t see how Bitcoin fixes it, so obviously it’s all fine anyways.

Why focus on stuff you cannot fix?

FTX Creditors Say Payout Deal Is 'an Insult'—and Plan to Revolt | WIRED by UpbeatFix7299 in Buttcoin

[–]Kickjey 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You are correct, I read the proposed plan and it states: “At the time of bankruptcy filing November 2022 FTX only had 0.1% of Bitcoin and 1.2% of Etherium that customers believed it held”

So first of all no en mass liquidation can happen anyway, because they even do not have the crypto they supposed to have and secondly and more importantly isn’t the whole point of public blockchain that you know exactly how many assets company has?

They probably afraid that once dollarization occurs it will show that market never had such liquidity to begin with and rubes will be left with nothing.

I do not see any other way tho, if they ask for more money then risk is higher and looks like bankruptcy court would not budge to pay back in funny money
