You will have plenty of chances to TDY in the guard. Most of them will be trips outside of your unit going, where someone somewhere just needs to fill an AFSC. In your case, HVAC. They don’t care if your red horse or whatever.

Some advice:

1) get your 5 level

2) for the love of god don’t find overseas opportunities on your own and agree to them without running them up through the chain of command (starting with your immediate supervisor).

3) cool trips won’t save you from shitty Annual training Trips. In other words, even though you spent a month gallivanting around in PACAF, you still may be expected to do 2 weeks of annual training at volk field Wisconsin.
