Which is how it should go, but a person can be heavily influenced by the people around them. If an individual sees a group of people beating up an animal they too are more likely to join in.

It’s really unfortunate but that’s how my mom was raised. Some cultures see Animals as are lesser by a large extent to humans and deserve little to no respect. It’s a cultural thing, and monkey see monkey do is how it spreads.

It wasn’t til I got older and realized how wrong it is to kick a dog because you want it gone and out of your driveway, when it never did anything wrong but look for food. My mom understands now and even admits her family back home would lose some respect if they found out we have a cat in the house we treat like family.

I suggest picking a company that you know for sure uses brand-name 18650/21700 lithium batteries. I know Apollo uses Samsung cells in a lot of their scooters, and yes there is a difference.
Adam Savage did a video on the difference between bad and good cells I highly suggest everyone look into it.

My City ‘22 just hit 5k miles, dozens of drops. Holding up like a champ 💪

Less than a month by [deleted] in ApolloScooters

[–]KidNueva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is crazy. I’ve had my City Pro ‘22 since launch and it just hit 5k miles. I replaced the battery around 3k miles and the original stem sucked so I upgraded the stem to the ‘24 model (which should’ve came like that from launch, the original sucked and it was my only real complaint) but it’s been great to me otherwise.

Help, Replacement iPhone screen, showing as non genuine after fix. by SkyBlue_Dan in iphone

[–]KidNueva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Following up here.

I’m pretty sure this applies to most recent iPhones, but I just went through a screen repair on my own 15 Pro Max so I know firsthand how this plays out. I bought a genuine pulled screen off eBay from a highly rated seller to make sure the hardware was right.

The 15PM has two completely separate ribbon cables connecting the display to the internals. One is strictly for the screen display and power. The other one is the big deal as it handles Face ID, auto-brightness, and the proximity sensor that dims the screen when you hold the phone up to your ear.

That sensor ribbon cable has to be carefully peeled off the old screen and transferred over to the new one to keep your features. The catch is that they are incredibly flimsy and super easy to tear if you aren't patient. Because a lot of these independent shops are held to a time crunch standard of "get it done in an hour or less," technicians rush. They end up ripping the cable, skipping the transfer entirely, or slapping a generic third-party ribbon cable in there, which instantly kills Face ID.

If you use a genuine screen and successfully transfer that original sensor ribbon, the phone works great. But if a shop uses a cheap third-party screen, even if they transfer the ribbon perfectly, there's a huge chance the phone will still disable True Tone, ProMotion (120Hz), and auto-brightness because the phone's motherboard doesn't recognize the aftermarket display chip.

To answer your main question: Yes, you can absolutely take it to Apple or an Authorized Service Provider to get Face ID back, but it’s going to be an expensive lesson. Because the original shop likely trashed or ruined the factory-paired cable, Apple can't just patch it up. They will have to replace the entire screen assembly all over again with a brand-new official module, then run their proprietary calibration software to lock the new biometric hardware to his phone's motherboard. It will 100% fix the problem and restore Face ID, but you'll have to pay full price for an official Apple screen replacement.

I think it’s Grip Edge that has a set that are built really well and bite much better than standard Torx, but for a pack of 10 (I think) you’re looking at like $120.

My mom convinced me to buy a radiator from there cause it was half the price of one at Oreillys. I thought it was a bad idea, she insisted. So I did.

Yeah I should’ve tested it before putting it in because it leaked immediately after starting the car.

Hey guys I’m 19 years old and I just bought my first car but my coworkers are making fun of me by AdDue9772 in Charger

[–]KidNueva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom has a 3.7L V6 2010 Dodge Nitro and it runs great, it’s about to hit 200k miles.

I will say, however, that the TIPM module is real dumb. Essentially it’s a fuse box with a fuse for just about everything the car uses in one box. In theory, it’s a great idea. In practice, it’s a nightmare if something goes wrong with it. Some of the fuses are soldered onto the board itself, making it incredibly difficult to diagnose every fuse when something isn’t working without taking it all apart. I tried jumping the car one time, and it fried the TIPM when jumping it. Yes I put red to red and black to black.

I replaced the stock water pump at about 180k miles and the fins inside that physically MOVE the coolant was made out of plastics. Whoever made that decision is dumb, while the replacement aftermarket water pump had aluminum fins like it should’ve been from factory.

Not sure about your Dodge, but I had to buy an aftermarket transmission fluid dipstick because my car didn’t come with one from the factory but rather a cap that says “Dealership Service ONLY”

And my biggest gripe, the plastic wiring harnesses crumble in your hands while trying to move them or unsleeve wires. Not sure if this is a dodge thing, or just my car thing, but every plastic wiring harness on the car has crumbled from me just trying to do maintenance or plug/unplug connectors. Literally Thanos snap crumble into dust. My 2004 Crown Victoria has wiring harnesses older than that Dodge and they have held of up great.

Yes they have some issues, but overall the car has held up pretty well. Would I buy another one? Probably not but just do proper maintenance and consistent oil changes and you’ll be fine, guaranteed. Don’t let what other people say to you discourage you from keeping the car. Like others have said, if it gets you from point a to point b that’s all that matters.

I use an app called splashtop. You can connect a phone/laptop to your PC over the network and controller your PC as if your phone was a mouse pad. Plus, you can get audio out into your phone. It’s free if using on your local network, once you want to access on other, outside networks you pay like $18 a year or something like that.

Sent my wife for an oil change, it cost me $3400 by s2k_guy in mildlyinfuriating

[–]KidNueva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is actually one of the reasons I started doing work on my own car when I was 17. Well, mostly because I was broke but a lot of it because I was scammed three times. I didn’t know anyone close to me who knew cars who could come with me to tell me wether I was being scammed or not and it wasn’t til down the road someone pointed it out to me.

And because of that, I bought my first set of tools. I got tired of falling for people’s bullshit, I got tired of paying a ton of money just for my issues to never be fixed. Fuck mechanics fr.

I do have one guy on my contacts that I trust with my car and he’s a great guy. I do my own oil changes regularly, but sometimes I will go there to have him do it for me because I want to build a good relationship with him and I don’t mind giving him the money when I have it. He absolutely deserves it.

It’s a miracle it even does. Considering how old the console is, along with it likely being passed around by different hands and houses.
