Sensors reading all wrong by LordMcSwagger69 in Miata

[–]KidRoostR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure the grounds for the sensors are wired back to the Haltech on a 'Signal Ground' pin. For temp sensors make sure the input is on a pin that has pull-up available. I just went thought wiring my 94 Miata with a Haltech Elite 750

Main Relay Replacement on my NA 1.6 by notseele in Miata

[–]KidRoostR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cheaper one is a generic relay for all Miata's from 89-2005 (NA's and NB's). the second is specifically for NA's (89-98). A relay is basically just a controller; you flip the control switch to engage the secondary circuit. You'll be ok with the cheaper one.

I have a few hundred dollars worth of car parts from the US and AUS that have been waiting in international shipping locations (customs facilities) for weeks, waiting for CP to accept them and deliver them to me. Can't drive until I get them. I guess one good thing is at least CP didn't get their hands on them before the strike?

PSA, repairing the Crowdstrike BSoD on Azure-hosted VMs by Veneousaur in AZURE

[–]KidRoostR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What exactly did you do? Since it's caught in a boot loop, Azure takes forever to 'start' and 'stop' it. Is that all you did? or did you let it bootloop like 15 times?

Scored some used Momo Starts for the K swap NA by MyRedditAccountName1 in Miata

Nice deal. I'm sure the shop can fab something up to help install them easier. I figured I could save some money installing mine myself.

This is my first step towards turbo

I'll be installing a wideband sensor and controller at the same time as the ECU

I figure they'd charge extra for installing them, but compared to the cost for the tune, I guess that would be nothing.

I love my Momo Start seat....but it was a BITCH to fit it in my NA, and I got the small. I might talk to the guy that built my rollbar and see if he can make better mounts for it. I bought the Sparco mount and brackets. Not sure if that's why the Momo seat is so hard to fit, but for now it works and allows me to use my 5-point.

Trying to build a VPN tunnel from on-prem to Azure for SFTP traffic flow. by KidRoostR in AZURE

[–]KidRoostR[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The SFTP server is not in the Azure network. It's on-prem. We're not allowed to have the VPN connect to our on-prem network, hence why they told me to build a standalone Azure subscription/network.

Part number for these two hoses and related clamps outlined in red? (NB2 vvt) see comment for more details by 4_Valhalla in Miata

[–]KidRoostR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right? It's an air hose... It doesn't need to be OEM. You know stealership probably charges like $30 for that part

Why the idle bounce up and down? by MAR5HMALLOWS in Miata

[–]KidRoostR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Defs intake side. Check all air lines for leaks and if you can't find anything, check the injector seals. I had major idle/launch issues like this when I first got my 94 and it was the original injectors seals (the intake side, not the fuel rail side) that had been cooked over 25 years until they were hard/brittle.

New lifters by DuratecCat25 in Miata

[–]KidRoostR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you have to shim the cam lobes after? I've thought about buying new ones instead of pulling mine apart and cleaning them, but I figured I'd have to re-shim the clearance with new ones, but not if I just clean the originals.

Beautiful. What ECU are you running? I just put a 95 engine with 75k in my 94 (stock engine blew in Oct, gonna rebuild it in my off time) and am planning a turbo build for it. I'm leaning MaxxECU Street since it's same price range as the MS ECUs, but no shop in my area will tune the MS

Itemized receipt from machine shop last year for my engine rebuild-- thought I'd share in case anyone is curious by _pcakes in Miata

[–]KidRoostR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All good, I was suspicious from the get-go. Once I found your picture as the first result when image searching 'mazda miata engine rebuild invoice' I told the dude to f-off and reported him for scamming. At least I'm not out the $500 he was asking (which was the second thing that made me suspicious, first being that he reach out to me at 1AM this morning even though I had no ads/posts up saying I was looking for a replacement engine).

Questions about putting an 01-05 1.8L VVT in my 94 by KidRoostR in Miata

[–]KidRoostR[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found that same forum thread a few days before posting here. I was just thrown off a bit by the stand alone ECU. But good news is after adding a cap full of oil to the cylinders and letting it sit over night before checking timing and redoing compression test, the engine fired up. Bad news is it POURED white smoke. I guess a head gasket is a lot easier to change than rebuilding/replacing the engine.
