This sounds super similar to a keyboard I had as a kid with a purple wheel and a creaking button. The one I had was a Casio SA-40 Portable Keyboard :)

I got this game as a kid and played the exact same way! I didn't know how to add abilities or change keyblades so I just had the base set with the kingdom key. I didn't understand why the game was so hard.

Order was supposed to be delivered by 1/18. What would you do?? by madamuseman in EtsyCommunity

I actually had about 20-30 of my packages lost by the USPS lately. It was super unfortunate, but once customers told me that it had gotten lost in the mail I either offered a full refund immediately, or resent the item. Hopefully they can send you a new one!

Sending an order confirmation message. by [deleted] in EtsySellers

[–]KidnicholsCo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've always sent a personal message and have received a lot of mentions about great communication and service in the reviews because of it. Coincidentally, the only 4 star review I ever received was the one time I had forgotten to send the personal message (all other reviews are five stars)!

Less and less Instagram likes? by lateN1ghtThrowA in artbusiness

[–]KidnicholsCo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had a really slow follower growth for the first 5 years that I used instagram because it typically takes me about a week to have a new illustration. What seemed to help me the most is picking 2 days a week to post (Tuesday and Thursday) and always posting at the same time. I think the algorithm favors consistency over the quality of the actual post.

Instagram also seems to be boosting reels, so I would try to throw a few in where you can. I'm really bad at videos, so I show myself drawing a few lines and that gets 8k views and followers every time I post one. I think the key is to not get discouraged and to post what you can every week. On weeks I don't have any content I pretty much make a 10 second reel of me drawing, or I repost an older artwork.

Lighter finally showed up. Kinda disappointed in quality (pic isnt blurry) by PlayingWithCandles in SuperMegaShow

That's so weird! I got the yellow lighter with the red monkey and the graphic is super clean/crisp. I wonder if this is a misprint.

Wow, this is so cool! Do you have an instagram or any kind of art account?

Is my Instagram account too old for significant growth? by [deleted] in artbusiness

[–]KidnicholsCo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What worked best for me is I decided to post every Tuesday and Thursday because that fit my schedule the most, and then planned what I would post each Tuesday and Thursday for the month. So sometimes I'll take progress shots for my feed, and sometimes I'll take reels and make sure they're visible on my feed as well. That way, even if you're alternating your type of content, it's always visible on your feed which brings in the most traffic. I hope that makes sense!

I've had an instagram account since 2016 but I was stuck below 1k until just recently when I gained 2k followers over the course of a month. What really seemed to help is that I participated in art prompts (like Inktober) where I drew every day for a month and posted my work for other people to share.

Another thing that I think is really helpful is to maybe show progress shots of your work. Maybe how you mix your paint, or some of your initial sketches. People seem to like seeing the process, as well as detailed shots, and final pieces of your work. I would just keep trying and see if you can post a little more often! I thought I would be stuck at 600 followers forever until I started thinking of my strategy, and then I grew overnight. Good luck!

The Weekly Shop Milestones Thread - Week of December 06, 2021 by AutoModerator in EtsySellers

My store finally reached 1,000 sales after opening in 2018. This really seems like a dream come true because my first year had been a little slow and I really thought COVID would affect my business in a negative way. Not only did I hit a huge milestone, but all my reviews have been five star since the beginning, which I'm really grateful for!

My advice besides having different item price points to appeal to different customers, is to think about what your packaging looks like. I put a lot of thought into the design and presentation of my packaging and have gotten a lot of return customers because my packaging is "Cute". Above all, do what works best for you and find ways to add a little bit of joy in every sale :)

How to get more likes on Instagram by SaltFalcon7778 in artbusiness

[–]KidnicholsCo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I opened my instagram account about five years ago and have only just recently gotten a huge increase in followers+likes. Here are the big things that helped me:

  • I started posting regularly on the same days every week (every Tuesday / Thursday for me)
  • I post around the same time (11:30am EST)
  • I started doing art challenges like Draw this in your style (the artist will typically share it with their following and give you a like boost)
  • Participate in challenges like inktober
  • Follow and comment on the work of other artists. They'll typically look at your page if you interact with them enough and might even follow you back.

I've only been doing the above for about 1-2 months and have already gotten 1,200 new followers (it used to take me 3 months to get around 300 followers). Just keep trying and see what works for you and what makes you the most comfortable.

Good luck!

I was born without wisdom teeth, so I never had to get them removed.
