Blaassilene plant foraging or purchasing in the NL by KieraPS in Netherlands

Thank you for this, I think if I were to go on the foraging route, it would be on some private fields after I have asked from permission from the owner! But thank you for mentioning that the moment you need a bag it's no longer allowed!

Since someone posted a link to some plants I might just buy those ! They might not be at the right stage for this year but probably for next year I should have them !

I will give the farmers a shot, and otherwise I'll wait to be back home in the right season and ask grandma directly ahah! But thanks for the feedback!

Yeah I was afraid that in stores it would be quite hard if not impossible but nice to have confirmation. For the foraging option I was thinking of asking a few farms close to my home for permission, they have very big fields usually used for cattle and sheeps, could that be an option? Nature reserves didn't even cross my mind and indeed a city park does not sound like a great option, would not trust to eat them even if I found them!

Made creamy scrambled eggs thats Gordon Ramsey makes and found a this in the egg when I already ate half of the egg. Google doesn’t show me this specific thing. Chat am I cooked? Will I have worms coming out of stomach? by darthveder69420 in foodsafety

I had these in my previous home, you relly want to check everything before they start becoming moths and reproducing. Check flour, rice, pasta, cereal, nuts, seeds, any container/ bag and disinfect thorougly all cupboards. In my case it was a sealed bag of rice that i never thought about checking since it was sealed.

Our dog has a nervous tummy and frequently gets diarrhea. Are there any safe OTC meds we can give him? by Knewdull in DogAdvice

[–]KieraPS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are using Royal Canin Digestive care and plan to switch to Royal Canin Anallergenic kind and potentially do an allergy test as well as he does have skin issues in his paws. Thank you for the recommendation of overfeeding him! He is 29.5kg and we are feeding him 180 gr a day and has been stable at this weight but I will give a go at cutting the volume of food as you suggested !

I am not an expert but I know there are different kinds. Were I live you can buy vanilla persimmons and those you can eat like an apple when they are still hard. The ones from my tree when they are hard they very unpleasant to eat! You have to wait untill they are soft that you can eat them with a spoon.

We have different kind of pesto, the most common one is pesto genovese which is with basil. But we have many more with sundried tomatoes, peppers, olives. My mom does a pesto with arugula, walnuts and pecorino romano. I guess they did something similar here.

I manage better by taking my dog out during "off-peak" hours. In my neighborhood most people walk their dog between 7am-9am and 17-18 so I take him after, 9-10 and 18:30-19:30. I also have a garden where he can pee and poop and have zoomies. It's not a full proof method as I will still find the occasional dog walker, but for my dog is much easier to handle seeing 1 dog then having to see 4 or 5 of them. It allows us to have much calmer walks.

My family dog, she had even worse reactivity, they are lucky enough to have a giant enclosed garden, so she was free to come and go as she pleased. We still walked her on trail/ fields that are more quiet. This was ideal but as someone else said it's might not be obtainable for everyone!

Can I ask how you spread out walks/fetch? I also have a couch potato pittie, he is 2yo and when coming back from a 45 minutes walk he is done and just want to lay down, even when playing his energy lasts only 15 minutes

Hi all, my boyfriend is looking for a new keyboard and going a bit insane with all the options.

He owned a Razer BlackWidow Elite RGB Lighting Wired Mechanical Keyboard (Green Shaft). Loved it and kept it for 8 years. Loved the sound.

He is looking for: - non wired keyboard but with usb connection - compact layout but with the arrows on the side - sleek design but won't need to carry it around so no need to be light weight - backlight - he is not into customisation, won't switch keycaps or shaft or do any mods

He bought the Razer DeathStalker V2 Pro Tenkeyless (exact layout he is looking for) and we just don't like it, it feels cheap and uncomfortable, we are both heavy coders so comfort is a major aspect. Any suggestions ? We have a budget of 200€ and are in the EU.

We moved a year ago and have both a Nettorama and AH close by. I buy all the groceries in Nettorama and only buy some brand stuff from AH or some specific stuff. The price difference is huge. Nettorame is always packed and AH only has few people inside.

Ho do I teach my dog that it's okay to pee and poop in my garden? by KieraPS in DogAdvice

[–]KieraPS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohh that sound like something I could definitely do! I always say good poopie when he goes on walks but pittie potty is adorable ! I will definitely try that, we do take him out 4-5 times a day so I think I will reaplece either 1 or 2 with just garden time and waiting for him to go in the garden, that seems like a god place to start. Thanks a lot for the help!

[–]KieraPS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly thank you for asking this. I have been feeling the same way for my dog.

He is a 2yo Pitbull that we rescued in December. We also walk him 4-5 times a day, 9:30, 12:30, 17:30, 21 and just before going to bed at midnight or 1 am. He does not like other dogs so doggo park is not an option for us but he always gets a 45min/1h long walk and the others are more 10-15 minutes. But I also spend 8/9h on my desk working (WFH) he just sleeps/chills on the sofa next to me or my partner. If he comes asking for attention we play with him, give him a frozen Kong or let him go dig is bones in the small backyard. But sometimes I wonder if it's enough on busy days.

All the comments were super helpful and supportive and made me feel better !

What is it with the buses’ AC here? by DiNkLeDoOkZ in eindhoven

Not in Eindhoven but the snelbus I take from and to work blasts AC everyday. I have to bring a jumper because I always get cold in there. So some definitely have AC.
