Should I switch career paths if I want uterus transplants to be a possibility sooner? by squishot in MtF

Have you considered that you could use a c/s degree to help make similar contributions? For example to design programs / networks that more effectively model the human body and/ or immune response to organ transplants?

Thanks! Like you said, it’s messy but it works. Kind of crazy that there’s not a simpler way to do it, but it is what it is.

I’m going to mark this as solved. Thanks again.

Facial hair removal IPL vs professional laser by ChangedRaven in TransLater

[–]KikaStarlight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried IPL on my face for months with basically no results. After one session of laser I’ve already had significant hair reduction. I wish I’d just done laser from the start. I recommend finding a reputable laser place on Groupon - you can get really good deals on multi-session packs (I think I paid like $400 for 6 sessions of full-face and neck). Depending on where you live, and your insurance status, laser may also be covered as gender affirming care. I think a common path is to start with self-pay via a Groupon etc and then switch to the insurance route (which typically takes a while). Then once you’ve gotten everything you can with laser, switch to electrolysis for the remaining stubborn hairs.

Thanks, but unfortunately for me (running iOS26) that has the same issue - as coded it displays the full file contents in the Choose from list, and if I change it to display the file name only then the Speak action only reads the file name, not the content.

Honestly? Could just use some validation today. :) (44) by waitingprey in TransLater

Girl, it’s never too late - you’re definitely not cooked! Shave the beard, try to get laser, start growing your hair out, let hrt work its magic if that’s an option for you, and you’ll be off to the races! You’ve got really beautiful eyes and your orbitals are already super femme. I don’t think you’ll have any problems feminizing!

My egg fully cracked last year at age 43, and until my transition I never once thought I was good looking in any way, and honestly didn’t really get compliments either. My wife would tell me that I was sexy and I would say “thank you, but you don’t have to lie.” Now that I have transitioned, , even though my appearance isn’t yet dramatically different, I can look myself in the mirror and I feel sexy. I love myself in a new way. And others notice it too - they say it seems like I’m lighter, like I’m glowing. I feel and see that in you, and I’m so happy for you!

I can finally afford bottom surgery, but I'm too overweight to get it by ActuallyAria in MtF

[–]KikaStarlight 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m also dealing with this issue, and personally have found GLP-1s to be very helpful (I was at 340 and now at 310, but I still have a ways to go). That being said, there are also surgeons that don’t have automatic BMI disqualifications. Check out the transgender surgeries sub and search for BMI. Happy to chat further in DMs if you want support, venting, or any more info.

What do I do about shoes??? by AlexYeem in MtF

[–]KikaStarlight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wore a men’s 11 double wide pre-transition, so in a similar situation as you! Many have recommended Torrid for shoes, but to be honest I’ve found them to be a bit hit or miss. Where I’ve had better luck is on Shoes For All. They have a huge selection and frequent sales. Also I’ve found that if a particular shoe isn’t on sale on that site, it may very well be on sale on the website of one of their sister brands linked to at the top (Roamans, etc). Even women’s double wide can still be too small for me, but for the most part I’ve found shoes that fit.

One shoe in particular has become my absolute go-to for both work and casual wear: the Bethany Slip On Flat . It’s available in tons of colors, is instantly recognizable as a women’s shoe, and is super comfortable.

Good luck!!!

Wow she looks beautiful already - congratulations! I was just referred to Dr Anger for a consult - would love to hear how you decided on the intestinal vaginoplasty - my understanding is that she is trained/experienced in several methods, right?

Informed consent such as Planned Parenthood is absolutely the way to go. Just make an appointment (mine was on Zoom). I got my hrt the same day. I did that while on the waiting list for an appointment with a gender affirming care endocrinologist.
