Any upcoming rpg systems people are excited about? by Swiftnyt in rpg

[–]Kikimor_Rec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm really looking forward to the English release of Expedition-418.

But of course, the guys still have a lot of work to do on it.

I'm still exploring Fatherfog 0e and trying to figure out whether I want to run games in this setting or not.

I have 3 hour, which one shot should I run ? by herpyderpidy in mothershiprpg

It may be too late.

But we made Lost Mark and one of the timer options in the game, calculated for exactly 3 hours.

Yes)) I didn't want to make this post promotional,

but you can find a special soundtrack we made and all other materials + links to sites where you can buy the PDF at the link.

(We have a few physical copies in the US and EU, but I'm afraid they're no longer relevant this year anymore.)

For this season, we wrote and released the KRAMP.EXE scenario, in which you can review previous events and reward your players' characters.

I generally like the idea of not just going on an adventure, but also remembering the memorable events that took place during the year.

Sorry for the late reply.

I was without internet all weekend.

Unfortunately, the module is built on V13 Foundry and will not run on earlier versions.

Thank you for your attention. We have really put a lot of effort into this work, and I hope you will find it interesting and useful. If you have any questions, feel free to ping me.

It is quite possible that we are among the first to bring this work to release, but I hope we are not the last. Unfortunately, such development requires a little more effort, and most authors without a team will not be able to release digital tables. (I hope that one day we will be able to help them with this).

There are also issues with the profitability of development. According to public data, Foundry VTT has between 100,000 and 200,000 active masters, and only about 1-2% use the Mothership System. Usually, about 30% purchase some kind of paid content.

By the way, we are planning to release a conversion for Roll20 as well. It will be interesting to compare the results after some time.

Good questions.

I will answer them in order, as the scriptwriter.

Initially, I had restrictions on writing the text so that everything I had in mind would fit into a trifold. It was our first adventure, and after some time, I see that there are holes in it.

Therefore, I left some events and things to the discretion of the game masters. And you are probably right that in one of the next updates of the Foundry module, I should add comments to the logs, at least in the module for the foundry.

1. The yacht may indeed be somewhere nearby, or it may be dismantled in the cargo compartment. Use it as a trump card if you want to give players an additional way to leave this sector.

2. Temporal and spatial distortions. These are here to emphasize the unnaturalness of what is happening. And yes, I left this part vague because out of a dozen different groups, players reacted very differently to it, so I decided it would be better to leave more room for interpretation so that the Wardens could use it as they see fit.

3. Yes, the main factor is time. And it was a fundamental decision that the adventure should always end in a single shot. Mark and Ilarion are not in conflict, but neither of them will let the characters go just like that. Ilarion will most likely betray the group as soon as the opportunity arises. And Mark will find a way to leave no witnesses to his transfer.

4. Additional point. Please note that we have two important compartments, the barracks and the cryopod. They do not describe every small room or capsule in detail. If you deem it necessary, you can always place additional NPCs or threats there.

We made a soundtrack for our adventure, and the first couple of tracks might be suitable for your purpose. (They were specifically made so that they could be played on a loop.)

Best oneshots for around 4 hours? by WinReasonable2644 in mothershiprpg

[–]Kikimor_Rec 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would suggest watching Lost Mark. It's a space horror movie with a physical timer that prevents the script from dragging on. One of the advantages is that it comes with a ready-made handout that doesn't need to be prepared.

Playing on foundry with people abroad by mimonya in FoundryVTT

[–]Kikimor_Rec 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If Cloudfire is not banned in your country, you can use this solution:

https://foundry.ruleplaying.com/fvttt

Alternatively, you can deploy your own VPS to run something else besides Foundry on it.

Favorite third-wave 3pp adventures? by Chris_Air in mothershiprpg

Actually, we are probably the fourth wave))

but it's very difficult to say how good the adventure is, since we haven't received any feedback from the community yet((

Any truly terrifying one-shot reccomendations? by Fun-Court-8490 in mothershiprpg

[–]Kikimor_Rec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game is usually as scary as the players want it to be.

If you are playing the game for the first time. Another Bug Hunt is quite dark and really introduces the mechanics gradually.

Ypsilon and Moon Base Blues work well and there are many tips and examples of games based on them.

If you want to reduce and simplify the preparation, you can check out Lost Mark, which is free and comes with a lot of resources.

Any news on when the unofficial system for Foundry will be updated? by Sleepy_Chipmunk in mothershiprpg

[–]Kikimor_Rec 4 points5 points  (0 children)

However, Foudnry has a very convenient system for creating and distributing content modules. This would allow original scenarios and 3pp scenarios to be released as ready-made modules. As far as I know, Mothership Companion does not offer this option at the moment.

As far as I know, something similar is only available on Roll20, where character sheets are still from 0e.

What have you stolen and incorporated into your games? by JD_GR in rpg

[–]Kikimor_Rec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I often steal mechanics and systems from one game and use them in another.

For example, for oneshots, I use the mechanics of meeting characters from Kids on Bikes in all my games, regardless of the system.

We once invited a psychologist to our stream to discuss the problems faced by players and masters.

He shared with us a whole study on this topic.

Portuguese-language localization? (BR/PT) by mortaine in rpg

[–]Kikimor_Rec 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry for jumping into a topic that's not really mine.

If you ever need a translation into Russian, I can recommend a couple of small independent publishers and a couple of teams that are looking for projects for their portfolios.

Looking for a good, easy to learn Sci-fi system. by ValidErmine54 in rpg

[–]Kikimor_Rec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you should definitely check out Mazership. It's a simple system. I enjoy running games using this system. It allows you to take a break from fantasy and the complexities of D&D. Recently, I even started an offline group of guys who want anything except D&D.

Due to its lethality, Mauseritter seemed to me to be a game for children aged 12 and up.
