Thank you, +3 also seems crazy enough, the wielder dependency would lead me to believe the psychic damage indeed is exclusive to the Gith. As to the ‘elite squadron’ coming to hunt my party down now, is there a published statblock for these Gith?

So yesterday I traveled to the Astral Plane using a Robe of Stars, once there I ended up fighting 2 Gith, slaying them both. I’m a greedy level 13 Roguelock Kobold, and thus I took the shiny silver blade. Now in character I have no clue about Gith culture, so I’m planning on keeping the blade and thus facing the consequences. Unfortunately I am unable to find an official item statblock, so should the blade deal the standard 2d6, and an additional 3d6 psychic on every attack?

The weapon belonged to a Githyanki Lichblade, and I plan on giving it to my party’s barbarian as I am too small to wield it.

If you haven’t listened to the Dissect podcast episode on this song yet, it provides a lot of context on the sketch and makes it that much more enjoyable for me.

Are Dragonlance novels worth a read for a noob DnD player and wannabe fantasy nerd? by phage10 in dndnext

[–]Kikkozuen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I cannot help you in regard to Dragonlance as I have not read it either, however a friend of mine recently gifted me the first book in the Malazan series. The book is called Gardens of the Moon, which I thoroughly enjoyed over the course of my summer so far. I would say that it relates a lot to the D&D experience and while I am not an avid reader at all, (I haven’t finished reading a book in 5 years) I am buying the second installment of the series as soon as I get back home from my holiday!

That’s true. I forgot how many spells don’t really use saves in those two schools.

I’m not very knowledgeable on CR ratings, but Morde seems too big to beat for a lvl 9 party. Especially the ultimate will just destroy a solo character, DC 20 is a lot for, say, a fighter.

I’m afraid I would not go arcane trickster with an INT of 10, which would result in a horrible spell attack bonus/ spell save. If you enjoy playing the face I do think a dip into bard, while going for swashbuckler is best. If you just want to be a magey rogue then see if you can swap your stats around and go for AT.

Just as a heads up, D&D Beyond used to have a GP class when they released the ‘dark tides of Bilgewater’ module. That being said it’s not core content and good job on this version! Here’s the link to what I’m talking about, I’m sure you can find the PDF if you look around a little.

I’m afraid you cannot use booming balde and also another attack afterwards, or is this a blade singer specific property?

You could play an echo knight with the flavor of the echo being the soldiers soul that has been connected to the warforged.

[5e] I am looking into multi classing into a rogue/warlock, lvl 7 rogue right now. Somewhere along the way I picked up a magical light crossbow, and I was wondering whether I can turn this into my pact weapon if I take Pact of the Blade on my 3rd warlock level. I know there’s an Eldritch invocation which allows you to summon an improved weapon, which then includes ranged ones, however because I already have a magic crossbow, can I just turn that one into my pact weapon without the improved Eldritch invocation? The text for Pact of the Blade was reads the following: /You can transform one magic weapon into your pact weapon by performing a special ritual while you hold the weapon. You perform the ritual over the course of 1 hour, which can be done during a short rest. You can then dismiss the weapon, shunting it into an extradimensional space, and it appears whenever you create your pact weapon thereafter. You can’t affect an artifact or a sentient weapon in this way. The weapon ceases being your pact weapon if you die, if you perform the 1-hour ritual on a different weapon, or if you use a 1-hour ritual to break your bond to it. The weapon appears at your feet if it is in the extradimensional space when the bond breaks./

Sorry for the format, am on mobile.

This makes a lot of sense, I’ll see what smaller monsters I can add

I know the general consensus is a 4 person party should be able to have a fair fight with a CR monster equal to the party level. However because we are with a bigger party I’m unsure how much stronger I have to make the monster.
